I have been satisfied with the team being competitive over the years... The effort has historically been there but we have received total ineptitude the last few years and I'm really worried now.
- JoeRussomanno

For a game against the Pens that was least amount of energy I've seen. I think this team wants the season to end.

I agree. Bottom line is that the Flyers best players aren't thier best player right now. Players like B. Schenn, Raffl, Talbot, Couturier are the Flyers best forwards. Giroux and Voracek just aren't bringing it.
- MJL

The 3rd line has been pretty darn good. I'm really optimistic to see how this team plays when Lecav gets back.

Voracek still has the speed, still has the one handed rushes where he lowers his head and fends off the defender with the other hand, but unlike last year, he is not sticking his butt out a la Jagr and coming off the boards with the puck. He is losing those board battles he has been winning last 60-70 games before this season.

1.37 goals per game for the Flyers.

Lets trade for defense.

- opeth_pa

They struggle at clearing the zone constantly... That and the d-corp isn't that impressive, a lot of things start on the back end...

He just threw the puck at the net with Simmonds in front. Nice play and all. But the Flyers need far more out of Giroux.

I guess we can both agree to be emotionally scarred. Just stop being annoying about them. We get it, you don't like the current roster. There are plenty of other teams you can follow, if you hate these guys so much.
- JAKEw1234

Guess what big guy, I find it annoying when people use cliches to explain why they lose the same way every year since right after the Lindros era.

Everytime I hear someone say

"The only way to overcome this is to work harder" I hope they lose the next game and they will.

picking on the kid who actually leads the team in points. I'd direct that more to the many guys who have done jack poop so far
- nastyflyergirl

dumbest f-ing thing i've ever read. must win game for about 15 reasons, 6' out in the slot, wide open net and shank it wide.....yeah, no reason to bring that up

another loss = check
2 goals or less = check
more injuries = check
39 year Cup drought = check

Rinse, (frank)ing repeat, same old poop.

I will respectfully disagree sir. I'm afraid he's in a rut that hell break out of, however I don't think he is worth the money they paid. The more responsibility, recognition etc he's received, the more he has shrunk... That concerns me.
What also concerns me is that I could see this season coming like a freight train at noon, why does the front office fail to do so...

- JoeRussomanno

I didn't see this coming at all, that is why I'm so pissed. I really had hope off this team. At least hope they'd make the playoffs. Now if they win 20 games I'd be happy.

See, I didn't see it coming -- I only started freaking out when they clearly couldn't score, couldn't win games, in the preseason, when they were clearly trying to do so.

But clearly, there's been stagnation, regression. The lack of speed and skill in certain areas...this is as bad as it gets.

We're last in the league, on merit. This is as bad as it gets.

- AllInForFlyers

The moves they made didnt address their issues...
3-4 years ago streit and vinny would've been great... Not now damnit...
Giroux... Big contract... Need I say more? They have swung and missed at these signings terribly, by either overpaying or just failing to avoid. I still think and hope giroux comes out of this... Plz God...

He definitely still has the skill, but for whatever reason, he looks like a different player.

As cliche' as it sounds the fact of the matter is this team is playing in quicksand. Berube has them headed in the right direction, but until the players get the 100lbs off their back(that's in their head), nothing will change. I will remain positive for at least a few weeks after the week of no games.

Very true and you could have Shea Weber back there making outlet passes just to end up on the stick of Datsyuk v2 I mean Couturier and nothing would happen.

Streit and Lecavalier have so far done what they were brought in here for. They aren't the issue. The issue is Giroux and Voracek.

PERFECT! It is groundhog's day every day in Flyer Land. The same way they played this year has happened for over a decade, but only gets mentioned when they go in long losing stretches...weeeeeird. Remember that series against NJ or the Boston series or the Pittsburgh series or the year they went to the cup and had many games they played the same way, but got those lucky bounces.

I've been trying to stay positive look for the silver lining, but after this s*%* tonight I don't know. I was expecting a lot more vs the Pens, that was just sad.
