So bets on how many games this team wins. - LJF
I'll give that a shot after the week off, see what the Flyers do or don't do with player personnel.
Mason's playing well enough to win games, if they get any kind of scoring.
It all goes to hell if his play drops off. Their margin for error...they just have no margin for error.

Who pressed the WIP button again?
Good night and good hockey. Next game will be the biggest game of the season. |

He's not a player that would be considered a 2 way player. He's an offensive player, who would likely play with Giroux. - MJL
Thanks, but no thanks then. Wouldn't give up much for another one of those. |

I might just take the rest of the season off. You know, enjoy hanging out with the g/f ... watch some Sopranos reruns ... catch up on home repairs. Yeah, that sounds good.
see you guys in October, 2014.

I'd like to add, "great offseason" and "market value" to that list. - JoeRussomanno
I should compile a list for all these cliche terms that are built into Philadelphia Culture. Thanks Mr. Snider, it's obviously not the mindset of the organization, fans or people of this city that keep accepting teams that win just enough, but not the championship.

personally the last thing I want to see happen is trading of any young players or picks for a guy like Vanek as good as he is. moves like that will just continue to set this team back. I recall it taking time to improve under lavy. I want to see patience under berube and if this season does become a total trainwreck, then move out some of the veterans with trade value and collect assets. - nastyflyergirl
I agree. Bottom line is that the Flyers best players aren't thier best player right now. Players like B. Schenn, Raffl, Talbot, Couturier are the Flyers best forwards. Giroux and Voracek just aren't bringing it. |

tonight game good effort but still disappointing we all no that a trade is likely going to happen in the next 6 days and from what i have seen this year if they are going to trade some one ... i so hope its Cobourn ... his play has not been impressive and it is quite frankly making me sick to watch... oh one more thing but in away i hope kimmo's injury keeps him out for awhile bring up a young hungry d-man cause he looks just as bad as cobourn |

It sucks Mason is playing well and the rest of the team not so much. He is making the saves needed but this team can't score on an empty net. Could the Phantoms beat the Flyers? |

I will respectfully disagree sir. I'm afraid he's in a rut that hell break out of, however I don't think he is worth the money they paid. The more responsibility, recognition etc he's received, the more he has shrunk... That concerns me.
What also concerns me is that I could see this season coming like a freight train at noon, why does the front office fail to do so... |

I guess we can both agree to be emotionally scarred. Just stop being annoying about them. We get it, you don't like the current roster. There are plenty of other teams you can follow, if you hate these guys so much. |

I hear you. I just don't watch as much hockey league wide as others so I like to ask about players before I advocate a trade or a move. At 29 he seemed like an interesting offensive weapon at the right price. After I posed the question others said he's a pure offensive player so I'd pass.
At this point I would still stay as is and see how things go after the week off. |

The one he shot towards the net and simmonds turned his stick, then it flipped up in the air at 2mph. Yeah beauty, no one else could of done that. |

He just threw the puck at the net with Simmonds in front. Nice play and all. But the Flyers need far more out of Giroux.

I have been satisfied with the team being competitive over the years... The effort has historically been there but we have received total ineptitude the last few years and I'm really worried now. |

See, I didn't see it coming -- I only started freaking out when they clearly couldn't score, couldn't win games, in the preseason, when they were clearly trying to do so.
But clearly, there's been stagnation, regression. The lack of speed and skill in certain areas...this is as bad as it gets.
We're last in the league, on merit. This is as bad as it gets.
