Its a fluke goal. Total coverage breakdown leaving a clear path for Roo to Simmer's stick. A gift goal and meaningless.
They are lost right now. Absolutely bewildered.

Don't worry Net. You guys will be fine.

This might be on pace to be the worst 3rd period team of all time

Maybe things need to be shaken up?

Maybe?

Man, there's a lot of things I understand why people leave a little wiggle room.

But saying this team doesn't need a serious overhaul -- even though they just scored -- isn't one of them.

- AllInForFlyers

I think we either need to trade for a pure scorer like Vanek, or get the team to better buy into the whole crash the net to score greasy goals thing.

I really like Steve Mason. So we have that going for us, which is nice.

edit: first RH goalie, I've ever said that about.

love Berube new system, averaging 10 shots on goal a game will get us the 2nd overall pick in the draft again, after Chicago drafts another Patrick Kane like player
- Winning

Scotty Bowman's system wouldn't do jack poop with the effort that the Flyers put forth in that 2nd period.

i still think that if anything is poorly constructed, it is the defense and not the forward ranks. seriously, you guys have a laundry list of talented forwards. they just need to look themselves in the mirror and play like it. now whether they are missing coaching, instinct, chemistry, or what, that is up for debate. but purely from a talent basis there should be a lot of goals up and down the forward ranks. seriously, over an 82 game season the pure number of guys that are 20 goal scorers is pretty large

I liked how a lot of the guys still looked depressed after the goal.
- EducatedOpinion

They didn't look depressed, they just know there's still more work to do.

After tonight, I don't think I'm gonna have to debate the need for more skill, speed and hockey sense to be inserted into this lineup. A lot of it. Multiple players.

There is no way anybody can argue that now.

- AllInForFlyers

Sure there is. Skill doesn't mean anything without effort and determination to go along with it.

*slips key back into pocket
- funmaster18

Ha! Yeah. That key's coming back out, my friend.

I wish it wasn't. I wish I thought they could make some magic in the third period and tie it up, even win.

But I know what I saw these last 40 minutes. I won't even try to pretend I didn't.

haha i still thought it was funny that he finally did exactly what he is supposed to do, seemingly right on cue. neither team is really at its best right now. pens have some gaudy shot totals but they really havent gotten many great quality chances. and the powerplay is vomit inducing. (although not as much as listening to michael barkann talk)
