(Very) soon...no more excuses with this team. Get it done.
As early as Sunday, MacTavish has been working the phones and working them hard to determine the market for goaltenders. They are looking at every possibility, from Anaheim's Jonas Hiller to Buffalo's Ryan Miller to Brian Elliott in St. Louis to Michal Neuvirth in Washington and beyond. MacKenzie - Colin Dambrauskas
The question is what does MacT have to give up to get any of those guys ... He is in a weak trading spot and most of those teams are not in any hurry to make a trade right now |

where was Glencross? oh yah, he doesn't show up on the road. -3 last night. sooo frustrating. - ...sbs138...
Is there an echo in here. Thinking the exact same thing. Wouldn't even know he played if that big -3 hadn't shown up on the stats sheet. |

Why is butler still playing on this team? I would way rather have sieloff or smith or cundari in the line up and I think it would be impossible for them to do worse.
I thought Backlund looked great last night. Working hard in every zone. It was probably colborne's best game of the season too. It was the first game that Monahan didn't look incredible but hopefully he has a couple of better games in this trip.
Did you see how hard Gio worked when the net was empty. The race back to stop the goal and the aggressive play to keep the puck in the ducks zone, He really wanted that tying goal. I hope he can keep that dedication and intensity for the game against San Jose. - XXVariation
I wonder if cundari's ahl stint right now is because they didn't think he was a better option or just to let him work on his defensive game |

Yea Backs even got I to a tussle with Beauchemin. He's a tough dude.
What impressed me about that play by Gio was his speed. Cogliano is fast and had a step on him. Gio caught him; impressive. |

Yeah, the Ducks could use a shut down defenseman but the Oilers don't have ANY defenseman. Some idiot on the AllDucks blog said Murray should get Justin Schultz back. This idiot obviously hasn't been watching Oiler games. Schultz has been brutal defensively. The only player I'd want is Hall and he ain't going anywhere. They Might get Hiller if they offered up their first round pick. but I don't see that happening either. Oh well, let the rebuild continue in Edmonton! |

I would rather watch Ramage or Whetherspoon than Butler. & I want to see Ramo for a few games now too. I don't mind losing if we see the effort we had last night.
Seeing we have a lot of cap space & I think we desperately need a big closer dman in our top 4, I wonder if it would be worth trying to pry Myers out of Buffalo & giving him a fresh start. Just food for thought. - Kevin R
What would you be willing to give up for Myers? What do you think BUF would want? They are in a rebuild like us. |

Yep. They are in a tight spot. 49 contracts and not a lot of wiggle room cap wise. Their assets are either high end or low end, not a lot of in between. I would've expected Yaks to be the trade chip but they may have to move Eberles 6mil instead.
The last few years there were plenty of Flames fans who would have loved trading rosters with EDM. I don't see a lot of that now. CGY IMO has set themselves up nicely in terms of $ and vet presence. I wouldn't trade overall situations/teams at this point. Good luck EDM. |

Joey played a great game. All three goals against were grade a opportunities. I think he'll be back in for SJ.

Well that's a good thought. There are at least 3 decent forwards down in Abbey that I really wanted to see up here in Calgary, Knight, Horak, Reinhart. How about one of those 3 & then we seem to have some real decent goalie prospects coming as well, Berra is pretty well NHL ready & Ortio & Brossoit arent far behind. In fact we don't have room for all 3 right now because I see they just traded Ortio & Brossoit between ECHL & Abby to make sure each of them isn't getting stagnated holding the gate for Berra. One of those 2 would be a nice throw in & how about a 2014 2nd or we could throw in a D prospect but Buffalo look pretty solid with their 2 first rounder selections they took this year. I think Myers can rebound under Hartley & has the size to play in that top 4 versus Russell. Just spitballing because I would love to see a big top 4 D I don't see Obrien being that option. |

Haha! To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up playing again with 2 days off. But I think Ramo gets the start.
Either way, you've got Colin on the ropes haha. |

Now if you had of posted this 2 months ago, the Oil faithful would have been all over you... now??? I honestly love Hall, Ebs, RNH... Yakachuk will be fine given the right environment. I just don't see any possibility of a real impact trade unless one of the "untouchables" is offered up... |

I thought Cundari didn't have that great of a training camp. His offensive style shows but defensively he is still a liability at times. |
