Side trades happen all the time, but if they are looking to significantly upgrade that position then Reimer is not on their radar after 5 games.

we arent trading reimer or bernier we need both to be competitive. and (frank) the oilers we dont need to help them out by trading them a goalie anyway.

Its 6 games into the f'n season.....we simply are not trading Reimer for a crappy back up goalie.

It's hard to believe that Bernier isn't a Oiler today....Really cant understand why they didn't land him last summer..

First off the Oil are up against the contract limit. Any trade for Reimer would have a goalie going back. We don't need Gardiner. I truthfully do not see any deal here. As was said by a Leaf fan in the Oiler thread, trade the Leafs and Oilers Goaltending this season and the records are probably reversed.

Yeah they did pursue him hard. In the end it's a no brainer for him to choose a team like the Leafs that has almost as young a core but that actually made the playoffs.
