how not? - Aetherial
Reimer Career .915 2.73
Dubnyk Career .911 2.84
Why would they give up anything let alone get held over a barrel for that slight upgrade after 4 bad games? |

If the Oilers are looking around to find availability of goalies, where were they in June when Dean Lombardi was ready to trade Bernier? - cragar77
They were working hard to get Schneider. But Vancouver wanted him out of the conference.
Not sure I understand that mentality. |

Some of them don't.
If Reimer isn't, then who is reasonably available that is? - Aetherial
Miller...But he has a NTC and i doubt Edmonton is a destination he has any interest in..I guess they might be able to get him for the rest of this season but my money on Miller being Flyer next summer... |

I'd say Islanders. |

Regarding the lopsided shot totals, shots on goal and scoring chances are two different things and I'm confident that if you were to look at the past 7 games you'd see that Toronto has just as many scoring chances as any other decent offensive team. Would it make everyone feel better if they took another 15 low percentage shots on net to get the total up? What would that really accomplish. As for the giveaways, it's not an ideal situation at all but I think some of those are a result of trying to hold onto the puck, looking for a good scoring opportunity. The giveaways have to be cleaned up but the big issue is penalties, they have to cut way down on those. |

Possible...At thins point i doubt Miller a option for the Oilers...Tough situation as there not really a whole lot of choices out there..

Eberle is about a .8 ppg player. That is great at 23 years old, but don't believe the ridiculous amount of Oilers hype. The guys isn't untouchable and definitely doesn't deserve a HUGE return.
Reimer has proven he can be a starter. Name me another legitimate starter that might be available (obviously Miller), now consider cost and age and contract status.
I don't see why the Leafs have to throw in 2 other major assets?
Besides, I am not so sure I want the Leafs to trade Reimer. With the GLARING holes in team defense, and the big penalty numbers, It seems to me that keeping both goalies might be a good idea.
The Oilers have to overpay, or they have to settle for a lesser goalie somewhere else. Given that they are still such a young team, I would suggest that they look for an upgrade that won't cost them any good young assets. - Aetherial
Reimer hasn't proven that he's an upgrade to Dubs. Other than the last 6 games, he and Dubs have had very comparable numbers over the last 3 years.

The offsetting penalties... where Franson knocked Neideretter in the net... should have just been a 5 on 5 instead of a 4 on 4. |

There is nothing funner then watching your team sit in their own end and weather a barrage of shots all game and hope they can hang on. The leafs are good at hanging on and not cracking in the last moments. |

That's true, a lot of them were brutal, but when you know you're getting bad calls against you it's probably prudent to be even more careful. They've taken a lot of avoidable ones too. |

Yeah, Reimer could be interesting, but the Oilers have few "middle grade assets" on their roster. Either they've got their young players that are likely to remain their core, or they've got low-value veterans. Or, picks and prospects.
So if Reimer happened, it'd be picks and prospects. - Morris
Nonis will say "no".
MacT is probably offering the usual, Hemsky, Klefbom... Smid... Blah!
Every team GM is saying "Call me when you are ready to give up one of your first round picks".
Nonis is in nooooo rush. I'm sure he won't blink unless he gets a GREAT offer even if it means packaging Reimer with others.

Barrage of long distance low quality shots only to counter the other way and make 5 passes for an easy tap in?

the first penalty on Gardiner and the last one on Bozak were jokes. Bozak literally got a penalty for playing defense. |

I thought franson should have been off on his own on that one.
