those young guns won't be ready by next year thats why! - todd1a
If Salo does indeed retire or move on, your top-4 next year looks something like this:
Hedman-Sustr
Carle-Gudas
It's not half bad. |

We get annual passes to different parks every year. Last year was Legoland, this year is Busch, the year before that and next is Seaworld! It's freaking awesome living in central Florida! - Artyukhin76
You need to be a Florida resident to get those cheap passes. Not for non-resident aliens. |

so who do you cheer for? - RileyB77
Well in my heart the Oilers, but they are withering away with the time zone difference and terrible results. I lived there and got to see their 2006 Stanley Cup run.
As a Halogonian, I am a big Crosby fan, and now a MacKinnon fan, so I follow both those teams pretty closely. I was a huge fan of Colorado when they won there championships. I like the Bolts from back in 2004. Fell in love with them after reading an article done in the preseason by Bob MacKenzie (I beleive) about why the Bolts were going to win the Stanley Cup. Have loved the old crew of Vinny, Boyle, Richards, St Louis, etc ever since. Now I like the make up of their young team, although I have never been a Stamkos fan ironically enough. It is because I had a chance to trade for him for Mike Richards straight up in a Dynasty league his rookie year and I passed.
I also really like Nashville, Carolina, San Jose, Winnipeg. I follow all those teams fairly closely. There are a bunch of other teams I seem to watch a lot. Washington, Boston, Islanders, Ducks.
I like to watch hockey in general for the most part, but there are several teams I really don't like. New Jersey, Detroit, Philadelphia, Dallas, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal. Detroit and New Jersey are by far my least favorite.
I was also a big fan of the Senators for a long time, as they were the team that we had the most local TV coverage on SN East, so I followed.
Ironically I was born and raised a Habs fan but it really changed soon after Roy got traded. And now I really don't care for them, have always hated Toronto, and have warmed up to them slightly.
I really don't like to go to the grave cheering for one team, because it is more fun to watch a lot of different players and get to know a lot of players well. I am a big fan of Fantasy hockey so you get a really good feel for it not just watching one team.
At the end of the day I am just a fan of the game and choose my favorites on a per game basis. |

On another note, do you think Namestinkov ever cracks the big team, or do you think he will be Russia bound at some point?

many chances, and connoly will be called up to stay lol
if it ever happened it could be:

purcell filppula connolly
panik johnson palat
labre thompson crombeen
maybe you put purcell on the 3rd line and bring up panik as palat purcell and johnson have been incredible |

cool, im comfortable with this lineup...
im worried about koivu and parise though. (frank) those guys are good, we are gonna have to have a sound defensivegame with clean break outs and a sick transition game, much like a repeat of the kings game is needed |

Panik seems to have dissapointed me slightly thus far, but Palat seems to be legitimate. He seems to have a lot of poise with the puck and seems to always be able to make the right pass and the right play. Very defensively sound as well. I would like to think he gets a crack up top as well at some point, but I am not sure... I think he deserves more TOI, but there is only so much to go around... |

i think panik has disapointed everyone so far this season, but last game he almost had 2 goals, one hit killorns knee...and the other he had a one timer lined up perfectly that had a good chance of going in and broke his stick on the shot attempt. he is slowly but surely improving, a lot like gudas.
palat has done nothing but impress me so far this year, and you're right that he could crack the top 6 but theres so many other guys that are paying the roles just fine, it shows the quality scoring depth we have on our team, although he isnt just a 1 way player he is a great 2 way player
this is weird, someone that doesnt cheer for the lightning on a nightly basis is coming in here and discussing perfectly reasonable ideas and perspective, outside of marty and stamkos... |
