Wtf

All this stuff about them being boring or unlikeable is crap

Cmon if they were winning everyone would be on board. Thats the bottom line.

- Crimsoninja

No question about that. And this team's issue is all mental. That's the biggest issue. If they get over that hurdle, this is a solid team.

The best is his comment on demoting Meszaros to create Cap space. What a moron!

Read Vinny G
Schenn Coots Jake
McGinn Talbot Simmonds
Raffl Hall Rinaldo

This is what I'd like to see once Vinny comes back. I know it's extremely doubtful they consider moving G to wing, but hey it might let him focus on getting his offense going a little more. Top line gets a big center with f.o numbers and two versitale snipers on the wing. Coots gets to play on a skill line. 3rd line looks a little iffy down the middle but you could always put McGinn on the 2nd line LW and have Schenn center the 3rd with Talbot or Raffl at LW. Of course once Hartnell comes back this all goes to hell but whatever.

There is little chance the Flyers move Giroux to the Wing, and I don't know why they'd want to. Giroux is struggling offensively, and I don't see a position change helping that situation.

Who says "energy guys" don't have value?

Jakub Voracek said that Tye McGinn, whose play was inspirational in two games, gives him energy on the first line. Berube doesn't want to hear that, especially given Voracek is averaging barely one shot a game on the top line when he should be averaging three shots a night. "I don't know why he is relying on Tye to give him energy," Berube said. "Hopefully, that is not the case."

Yea!

Apparently he isn't aware that demoting Meszaros would mean the Flyers would carry over 3M of dead cap space.

if you need to move giroux to wing, then he is not the guy he was supposedly anointed. he is in a rut, you need to just let him get himself out of it. the good ones do before long.

while i wouldnt condone his defensive lapses, you guys arent paying him to be a shut down center. he needs to figure out a way to get points on the board right now, even if it is at the expense of 2 way play.

totally agree. its nice to see the lesser known guys contribute through hustle, but if you need someone else to provide "energy" for you, that is a problem. jake has really been struggling, and while i dont necessarily root for him in the orange, it does stink to see as an objective fan of hockey. i love his game when he is on. speedy, slick, creative

Then how about Vinny G Read? The prevailing thought is to overload the top line with our best playmakers and shooters.

i still think its best to spread it out a bit. eventually all of these guys cant be slumping at the same time. maybe im biased due to the pens model of building down the middle and skimping on the wings, but i still think once you guys get going a one two tandem of giroux and then vinny will be pretty damn good.

I agree on your points about the suggested position change. He's not being asked to be a shutdown Center. But he has to play well in both ends if the Flyers are going to be a good team. When a player isn't scoring, his defensive miscues are magnified.

I think the prevalent thought behind signing Lecavalier was to have a 2nd top scoring line. I think the line you suggest makes the Flyers easier to defend. Not that it can get any easier then it currently is. But we're talking hypothetically.
