I disagree. I'm going to get slammed on this but AMac has been our best defensemen this year. Hamonic has been inconsistent this year. Viz sucks. Strait can go back to the AHL, Carkner,Donovan and Hickey are what they are, bottom 6 guys. - Isles316

I would put more consideration of making sure Moulson is not parked in front of net before those 2 players - Ur Not Me
Which is not hard to do. Moulson is half the overall hockey player we are seeing that more last season and this. It'll continue |

Frans Neilsen, Grabner etc and more importantly how do you defend a team that has 4 lines that can chip in goals and be speedy or physical? The Isles have a very deep lineup of forwards. They might lack the one top end guy still maybe - Isles316
Agreed,
Like I said in a prior post, the Isles have better role players than most teams. Thus has produced a better 4 line rollout than most, but lack game changer ability.. besides JT |

Yea, but it's splitting hairs because they have so many guys capable of scoring a goal. Thats why a game like last night they threw 44 shots on net. You win most of those games. And every line had something to do with it. If I had my choice, Id say D Man, Goalie then another forward are the isles priorities for this year and the next couple. |

Likely yes...however this isn't fantasy hockey on ESPN. There are things that Grabner does that Ryan cannot and vice versa. To me, outside of JT, Grabner is the single most important player on this team. So if you dealt him and a first rounder for Ryan, you're team might not be any better than before. Sure, you've obtained a dynamic player, but you're losing one as well who impacts different areas of the game. - keaner17
Totally understand your point, and I'm not disagreeing just stating if Grabs was more consistent on the offensive end, he will be the next legitimate threat after JT.
But I do think that Cappy should make the 1st line of
Grabs-JT-Clutterbuck this line has all the elements of being productive |

we are 3rd in our division. we win next two games and all is forgotten. - Spartiarti
The losses may be forgotten once the team wins again but toward the end of the season, when we're struggling to make playoffs, THESE are the games you have to remember. The ones they let get away. |

(not to mention call last season a fluke) based on 6 games - LetsGoIsles
My Prior Post: The 48 game season proved little IMO. A flukey kind of yr all around.
**************************************************************
Not sure if your Fluke comment was in reference to what I posted above but if it was. You misinterpreted it entirely.
My Flukey comment was referring to the entire 48 game NHL season, which even you must admit was not your normal season.
So based on an NHL season months late in starting, a shortened pre season, players coming into the new season already injured, and a number of players ill prepared to actual start the regular season. It was a flukey kind of yr all around. Which may or may not include the Isles making the PO's.
Only making the PO again this yr will determine whether or not their PO appearance last season was one of the Flukey things that happened last season.
Were some of the improvements and strides that the team/individual players made last season a Fluke? NO! Absolutely not.
Was JT's emergence as leader of the team a Fluke? NO!
Was making the PO's in a strike/lockout shortened season a Fluke? MAYBE?
Only this season and next will determine whether or not last season was the turning point for this organization.
My comments are not based on having only played 6 games into the season.
I actually made a similar statement over the summer well before the season started.
Regardless of how deep or shallow we are into this NHL Season. Last NHL season was different, strange and Flukey all around. For all teams including the Islanders. |
