Except g isn't that good. He's a little overrated in Philly. Not to say he csnt dominate at times and for stretches but it's becoming very very appearant that that he's not in the same stratosphere as Crosby malkin. He's not going to carry team on his back for long stretches.

I never thought Giroux was on that level. But he was definitely on the next tier down. I don't know what the issue is right now with his play. But the last two previous Seasons, he's scored 141 points in 125 games. Did he all of a sudden forget how to play?

The fact the season from hell 06-07, has netted the Flyers a 6th dman is ridiculously comical.
- PLindbergh31

Painful. That entire draft...I don't think there's a single player that we drafted that year still left in the organization.

Ridiculous waste of an entire year, with absolutely nothing to show for it. Nothing.

So true. It sucks a fat nut, to be honest I think the Homer ship has sailed but before he goes he will be allowed a trade or two before leaving the org. We all know how this story ends

Man, don't get me started. I'd drive any player on this roster anywhere in North America, to their new team, if it means getting a straight-up scorer into that lineup.
- AllInForFlyers

Unless that scorer is Stamkos, Ovechkin, or Crosby. Won't have much of an impact with the way the Flyers are playing.

Yes, I agree. The 4th line did not play a shift in the 3rd period. That is not a sustainable rotation over the course of an 82 game Season.
- MJL

Especially when you have a lead. Ride the 3rd and 4th line a little more when you get ahead. Then your top lines are the fresher lines as the game goes on. I do believe Berube and the entire team is playing under duress. It is the NHL. I really think the week off after the Pens game is huge.

I say put him with Vinnie L. I say Vinnie can set up G to have him get on the board

One could argue that Berube feared that rosehill or rinaldo would take a bad penalty and give Vancouver a pp. Obviously he doesn't want that happening so he eliminated that chance by not playing the 4thb line in the 3rd period. Which caused the top 3 lines to be overplayed and worn out, thereby allowing softer defensive coverages, which led to the tying and winning goals by Vancouver. I know rosehill has been a bit of a scapegoat, but if the coach has faith in all 4 lines, which he apparantly doesn't, the team wouldng have ran out of gas at the end. So, at least for thisngame, yes; rosehill bbeing in the lineup is a legitimate reason for why they lost the game.

I agree on the penalty angle. I don't agree that they ran out of gas. Or that the other players were overplayed.

AT the end of the day. It is what it is.

The writing was on the wall, and continues to be with Hextall leering.

The draft in Philly. Holmgren brought this team back with a poop load of cap space, and some young players in the fold. Hextall will have a chance to do it this time.

More than anything, its time for this organization to get back to its identity of being hard to play against, and gain respect back. They have in the last few years become a joke. Frustrating as a fan.

Not agreeing or disagreeing, but when you're pressing the energy(gas) runs out much faster.

You're entitled to whatever bizarre opinion you come up with, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that there are quite a few more players in the NHL who can help the Flyers more than Michael Raffl playing on the second line at this stage of his NHL career, but you keep telling yourself that this team can't be helped.

Your insight, as always, is...appreciated.

7 games in and we're already disregarding the fact he was our best defenseman last year?

I agree. I think that is why Hexy was brought back, Homer time is getting shorter and shorter.

This is one of the overreactions that I find comical. L. Schenn for whatever reason is not playing well, and has had a slow start to the Season. But last Season he was considered to have a strong Season, and was one of the bright spots from the Season. I don't know how 7 games this Season wipes out the 47 from last Season, and makes Schenn a 6th Dman. It's a long Season. Let's see what happens.

What will determine if a deal is made, is having another team willing to deal. And offering a deal that the Flyers feel helps them. The odds of that happening this time of year, is pretty low. Not impossible, but not likely. Maybe something with another team that is struggling.

You have a lot of talented players on this team that aren't scoring. Why aren't they scoring? And how is adding another Winger going to change that?
Raffl is only in the lineup due to the injuries to Lecavalier and Hartnell! LOL

Maybe they didn't run out of gas, but they definitely seemed to be more conservative in the 3rd.

Exactly, they played not to lose, instead of playing to win. They were too conservative, and tried to just hang on. Instead of continuing to get the puck deep and answering back to the Canucks push. They lack confidence overall as a team, and it showed in the 3rd period. They have a fragile psyche as a team.
