But we need to trade our young core if they don't produce immediate results. Schenn must go.

if you're going to post links to a Boruk article in here, common decency requires that you identify it as such. nobody in their right mind should read or listen to anything that idiot says. you can actually feel your IQ dropping as the page loads....

It sucks how my life is too preoccupied to immerse myself in this board but just means my real life is going in the right direction....
Anywho... Looking forward to this game tonight... I think they get out of this funk and play to the level they are capable of. Just wish the front office would get their heads out of their asses... They should have pulled the plug on lavy last June... I think he knew his days were numbered and thus we had a poopty camp... Just a hunch no logical explanation for that assumption

Well, apparently we need a #1 defender and a top-line scorer, that seems to be the consensus.

1) Trade half of the Flyers (Giroux, Hartnell, Voracek, Rinaldo, Talbot, Hall, Timonen, Coburn, Grossmann) to Nashville for Shea Weber.

2) Trade the other half of the Flyers (Schenn, Vinny, Read, Couturier, Simmonds, McGinn, Raffl, Rosehill, Streit, Meszaros, Gustafsson, Schenn) to Ottawa for Bobby Ryan.

Retain salary as needed. All we need to win a Cup is a #1 defenseman and a top scoring winger. This should get it done.

Amen to that!

I see steps that they are going in the right direction.

Homer refused to trade his young centers (so far) for the top pair defenseman they so badly need.

They picked up several D prospects in the last 2 years, the cupboard does not look so barren.

Then OTOH they were the Flyers and signed Vinnie the best UFA available. I like the move, but not sure it is something a rebuilding team does. If healthy he definitely helps the team. I accept that they will go for it every year. But please keep the young core and all the draft picks going forward.

Thanks for linking the article, I agree with what he wrote.

you didn't add in Mason & Emery, we won't be needing them anymore with Shea Weber back there.

They don't need a top line scorer, they need synergy ... They're not meshing and when they do the scoring will comeback

Isn't this their strategy, to suck and get the best prospect available in the draft?

I wouldn't want to pay to watch the product this year, but it is a long term plan of sorts.

Oh man, how could I forget them. I guess we'll help out Ottawa with Mason and send Emery to Nashville. Shea Weber should be able to pound out about 95 goals and finish with a 2.65 GAA, SV% somewhere around .923.
