Not exactly. When they score 4 or 5 or 6 goals in a game and then watch their goalies let in fluffies to actively lose the game you can absolutely point the finger in one direction. Like I said before, it's become trendy the last few years to crap on the Oilers D but they've actually played fine. When you allow a lousy 20 shots and lose by 3 goals there is a very definite area to blame.

Any team can say "if we were better in this area, we should have won that game". It goes both ways. If Bernier didn't have a bad game, then yea, you would have still lost.

I think there's some bad luck involved with the goaltending. But getting just average goaltending would gloss over a few of the negatives.

At the end of the day, without team defence, and your young forwards buying into backchecking as hard as they go in the other teams zone, the team is going no where long term.

This team is not built like the Coyotes where goalies enjoy a lot of protection. They need the goalie to at least be solid. It's important.

I don't disagree at all, but there is a great many issues. MacT has a lot of (frank)ing work to do.

But the young guns have been playing shinny for more than just 6 games. This has been a broken record for 3yrs now. It's time for them to answer some criticism; and hopefully learn how to play real man's hockey.

cause nuge was weak and got taken off the puck and gave up a 3-1.... from the sounds of it, it was berniers worst game.... so if duby didn;t let in those bad ones and bernier played up to par then it woulda came down to overtime.... and nuge got taken off the puck.

You cant deny that the main problem right now is the goaltending. It's hard to work on the other areas of improvement when its obvious that between the pipes there is no confidence.

The Leafs went through the same thing a few years ago when we consistently out-shot or out-played other teams but would lose. We kept trying to convince people we weren't as terrible as our record, but it's not an easy thing to do. You watch the d-men play so tight because they were certain any mistake would end up in the net. It just snowballs at that point. And conversely having a great goalie makes everyone confident.

You guys have a much better team than last year, IMO. You have some real nice pieces on the backend now, and a better bottom 6. But if your goalie sucks none of it matters.
