Its actually not that surpising how poorly the Rangers are doing. Take a look at how badly the West is pounding the East right now. I think its a combined 21-3 in favor of western teams. The East is getting dominated and the Rangers started off the season playing against 5 Western teams. Add the obvious upside down change to the system, missing the Captain for the first few games, missing Nash the top offensive player the next few, and the fact that the Rangers have been away from home for 23 days before they finally got back to Westchester for practice yesterday, I think its a little unfair to judge the team just yet. WAY TOO MANY negative circumstances. Even if everything was going well, just looking at how good the West has been against the East, probably says they would have lost most of those games anyway (at least compared with all of the other Eastern conference teams). Just me rationalizing.

Very interesting and positive way to look at things.

Still, though, changes needed to be made to get more skill out there to fit the system...more should be coming soon, too.

There is definetely a honeymoon period for a new coach, but I can't disagree with anything you have said. Not really much positive has happen from day 1, and right now the Rangers just seems discombulated in all respects (i.e., play, injuries, personnel decisions, et.). Too much turmoil right now.

If it keeps going like this, the honeymoon will be over quickly.

this morning I started reading how disappointed the players are about Biron being waived, and quite honestly, I am tired of hearing about what the players think of anything.

Soon they are going to be basing organizational decisions strictly on Sean Avery's tweets.

Miller practicing with Moore and Dorsett,4th line minutes shouldn't hurt his recent progress AV is not going to last the season with these decisions, you needed a player to come make an impact, that's why you call up Miller, if you just needed a warm body then he should have called on Mashinter

If they don't come home, with at least three wins on this trip, they are going to play in front of a very hostile crowd.

Playing with a guy for a couple of years it's sad when he gets waived, especially cause it seems Biron was so liked by everyone.

I think besides his performance and salary, another reason he may have been waived is for that reason. Give these guys a kick in the pants, if you don't perform well you will be shown the door. AV wasn't here a couple of years ago when Biron was doing well, with Torts he could have hung his hat on that and probably still be here, all AV has seen is bad goal after bad goal.

Cutting a guy like Biron who they all like so much may wake them up some.

Pyatt should be on that 4th line; not Miller.

well, if Torts was still the coach, if the exact same circumstances existed, it would be all Torts fault, not one of those excuses would be allowed by anyone.

This team has been awful from day 1 of training camp. One brief shining moment in Los Angeles.

A couple of those post shots find their way into the net and McDonagh doesn't score that lucky charms goal they lose in LA as well.

This team is a mess and there aren't enough fingers to point blame towards the players, coaches and management.

Pyatt and Boyle need to be very far away from this Rangers lineup. Moore has looked atrocious as well but he gets a pass from me thus far.

we need boyle until nash and hags are back than we could roll 4 very good line if they finally called up kreider and kristo too kreider I just have a feeling is gonna explode because he's confident again and kristo just deserves his chance after 5 points in 4 games just roll:

nash-brassard-kristo/cally
kreider-stepan-cally/kristo
hagelin-richards-miller
pouliot-moore-dorsett
boyle/zucc

That may very well happen soon. I see both leaving and replaced by Kristo and Kreider; or Nash and Hags is Miller and Fast stay in the lineup.

IMO all of miller kreider and kristo should stay and zucc should sit, he hasn't proven himself as well

Who has? Should Hank sit? Girardi? Brassard? Too early to be so rash. Afterall, AV seperated the Poul/Brass/Zucc line that showed chemistry early on.

...and this is because Kristo has done so much more in the NHL than Zucc?

New system, injury bug, contracts have hurt the team early on. This will go away when they win a few...if they win a few

Not suprised. If it were January or February, then they may have been claimed.

I still say someone else other than Asham should have neen waived.

It's just another example of managements delusional view of this team. Bringing up players and sticking them on the 4th line makes no sense, especially when others are just plain terrible.
The most puzzling issue is the difficulty the defense corps is having. Disjointed, confused, it was the strong point of the team, now they look awful.
I'm very concerned about Nash, no matter what they do to help improve things, we're not going anywhere without him.

Old habits die hard. Any slight hesitation at the NHL level and it's going to cost you; especially on D.

It'll get there.

...and have more faith in guys like Stepan and Cally. I see our Captain seriously stepping up his game. Remember, neither guy had a preseason or much of a "real" traning camp.

Biron getting waived doesn't necessarily mean the team is releasing him. Fact is, performance wise, he didn't get the job done so Talbot gets a shot. Biron may benefit from starting in Hartford and getting minutes in to fine tune his timing and quickness. They obviously can't waive Hank, but based on performance, they should both be sent to Hartford right now. Talbot is the only change in net they can make. If he struggles and Biron plays better, he can very well be called back up by December.

We need Nash and Hags back to have any shot... and then we got Nash and Richards at the wings. Cally Hags at the wings as well. That's pretty decent. But its obvious our team is not deep whatsoever compared to the real good teams.
