Perhaps Lamoriello and DeBoer are trying not to make that mistake with the likes of Gelinas, Merrill, Matteau (who I still think has potential), Severson, and Boucher.

Only one I have argument with. He does bring a physical skill set, but he makes some really dumb decisions though.

It isn't like he hasn't gotten a chance. He gets some PP time and he hasn't done anything good with it. His play this season has not been good, and it is not Deboer's fault. He is playing with our best D man (Greene). He just needs to pick it up. He is also getting 18+ minutes of ice time, so I don't know how he is being handled wrong. Just can't make those bad turnovers. He has got to earn his ice time.

Urbom looks pretty good on the Caps

We should do some big trade with the Oilers where we give them a few big "physical" guys and they give us some small fast guys

By the way, your location is quite cute for someone telling others to do research. Since the beginning of the 2010-2011 season both Nash and Grabner have 204 games played and Nash has a whopping 11 more goals than Grabner.

Grabner also has 2 more goals than pudding head this year. Trust me, I know, he scored both of them against us.

Funny how the Devils have yet to register a win yet they're still ahead of the Rangers in the standings. If you're going to partake in this thread, make a constructive response. I expect hard work and the reality is we aren't seeing it. The other teams want the win more and the results speak for themselves. At the moment we aren't even a .500 team. If the D tightens up we could be but there is desperate need for change on the back end. I don't understand all preseason Gelinas, Urbom and Merril were praised yet none of them make the team....Not sure we would be much better with any of them but it certainly wouldn't hurt. Gelinas or Merril could run a PP a lot better than Zid and Harold.

I think it is discouraging but I have been thinking about it we are still within a play off spot and at the end of the day that is all that matters. If we had 0 points Lou wouldn't be calm but the fact is we have been in most of the games and until we start getting blown out nothing will change. I could care less if we have 20 O.T losses as long as we make the play offs. The thing is we aren't even an 8th of the way into the season yet and last year we lost 10+ games in a row and thought had it been a regular season we could of turned it around and that was at the midway mark this is right at the very beginning there is reason to panic but this team can still turn it around.

I think it was a joke but what is the big deal? not one player back there has been worth sticking up for. The guy has 4 points and has probably been the cause of 7. Just because he has for points doesn't mean he has been good. The guy is 37 and makes mistakes that you could justify a 20 year old making. Exact same thing with Volchenkov. So he blocks shots. He could block as many shots as he wants it still wont make up for all the crap things he does. I just don't get why Devils fans are jabbing at other Devils fans when the only two players you can defend are Marty and Cory other then that the entire team has been pathetic to some extent.
