Tiops reported that the Pens asking price for Nisky was a first rounder during the off-season. Omark and a 3rd isn't going to cut it especially after his hot start. I'm inclined to believe they'll sign him to a new contract rather than move him.

Niskanen is a good chip, but the fact he could command a $4 million salary next year as an UFA somewhat diminishes his value.

My thoughts are prospect who might be NHL ready but can benefit from AHL time... plus where do you put Nail besides with Geno, but then jussi and bennett r 3rd liners and kobasew 4th line...

Yeah that doesn't even sound like something the Oilers would entertain.

Let's be honest they could use a defenseman but we've heard it time and time again that it's not a PMD they need. It's a shutdown guy. They wouldn't be dealing a forward of his ability for Niskanen.

It's a fun little NHL 14 proposal but that's about it. For someone that needs a PMD and possible PP guy then his trade value hasn't been higher. That's still a good thing.

Yes he is. A quality backup. Not sure what the deal is in NY with this. I can sort of understand Asham even though he's capable of doing plenty of other things besides fighting.

On a more serious note as much as it sucks I believe we will be sending Maatta down. The only way I saw him staying in the first place was if we traded someone away or Letang was out for an extended period of time. However, it seems like Letang is on the verge of returning and trades are never a good idea when other GM's know you have a deadline you must trade someone by. If we need to call someone up we still have a great dman in Despres.
