Geez look at king nothing's gaa without fonzi's crash test dummy shot block system... Maybe I was on to something when I said his team makes him look better than he is...
- JoeRussomanno

I think the fact he lost 5 inches off his 5-hole is royally throwing him off his game.

any word on these rumors?? maybe i'm leight been in boonies with no internet for Canadian T-giving...

Rich Smith @ALLsportsINTEL 2h BREAKING NHL UPDATE - Source - Flyers and Oilers discussing blockbuster deal that would send Nail Yakupov and Hemsky to Flyers.

Rich Smith @ALLsportsINTEL 2h Oilers reportedly would want Simmonds, Coburn and either Couturier or Laughton for Nail Yakupov and Hemsky.

Rich Smith @ALLsportsINTEL 4h Source - Flyers involved in trade talks with Sabres for Vanek, Flyers reportedly offering Couturier, Coburn and a 2nd rd pick.

- Buzzo

If the Flyers could get Nail without having to give up Schenn AND Coots count me in.

There is probably little to no truth to that rumor but the move would help both teams tremendously.

I think you either undervalue our players, or overvalue their players.

maybe man. i just find it really really hard to believe that the flyers could acquire yakupov without including couturier

I am not in favour of trading just to mix it up here.. but if a hockey trade can be made to help both teams.. great... I really don't want to lose cooter. Schenn I can deal with losing although he'll probably turn into a star the second he leaves here.

You are right. These are probably baseless rumours, but these are not a off the wall rumours. The teams could be talking.. if we have a chance to pluck a recent former #1 for a good cost because he's fallen out of favour with the coach.. then listen.

Coots was right in the 1st overall race until his injury, then he fell into our laps. Giving up him plus 2 other valuable assets for Yak seems a little too much.

His "injury" was mono and all he did was put up back to back 96 point seasons in juniors.

Oops, don't know how I got it into my head that he had a lower body injury. Either way, he was in the race. There were mock drafts that had him going 1st.

Yeah..It's possible that the two teams are talking.. if so, I doubt that that guy has the correct names. I'd listen, but Cooter is not someone who I would trade.. Laughton, Schenn, fine, but not Cooter or our 1st or 2nd picks.. as it stands, the 1 looks like a lottery pick and 2 could be like a late 1st..

maybe they've soured enough on the former #1 overall pick who put up 31 points in 48 games last year as a 19 year old. but i doubt it

seems like a total "halak and a 2nd" offer to me

believe me, i'm all ears. particularly if it can be done without giving up couturier (which, again, i seriously doubt)

Yup. Mike Morreale had him 2nd overall, calling him an "Eric Staal clone". Bleacher report had him going 6th, but called him a "future franchise center... one of the top 3 players in the draft"

Those players fit the mold of exactly what Edmonton needs and they boast a wealth of high skill forwards so the blow of trading a kid like Nail is lessened. Also, the players we'd give up according to those rumors don't create massive holes on the team for us. Move Read into the top six and (if youre including Coots) you still have Laughton for the 3rd line Center role. Coburn would hurt a bit but ultimately you don't let Coburn be the deal breaker in move that could land you a young #1 pick.
