Elliot career save percentage ~ .909
Dubnyk career save percentage ~ .911

Wins and GAA are team numbers.

He does not have way better stats... He's not much of an upgrade over Dubnyk at all. Actually, I'm not even convinced he is an upgrade. Grabbing Elliot is pointless.

- laughs2907

They changed the equipment this year and clearly Dubby cant adapt. Elliot is a guy who can be a legit 50-50 goalie that will push dub's. And If we dont like him, then he is a FA at the end of this year.

I admit he isnt the best answer but he is someone who could help us that will not cost much and is at least a possibility to get.

But worst case scenario he turns into our back up.

All of these debates are somewhat redundant. On paper, Dubnyk is better than a lot of other goalies. I think the talent is maybe there with Dubnyk but the mental focus is not there and he clearly does not have his head in the game right now.

I cannot stand Dubnyk but I'm pretty sure he is better than Joey MacDonald. The thing is, MacDonald is in the zone right now and he is a competitor. We need someone in nets that will compete for every save, every minute.

Dubnyk is just "ho hum, we'll get 'em next time". I hate that, I wonder if he even feels bad by his performances recently?

We need to find someone who HATES losing, and hopefully has some skill to back it up.

It's been known that Bryan Murray has a thing for Smid... Would Ottawa trade Anderson for say... Smid, and Dubnyk???

Or what about Lehner for say tour 2014 2nd round pick, Smid and Dubnyk?

- laughs2907

edm doesn't have a second round pick. not sure is ott still interested now with the cowen and methot there. i'd consider anderson, methot, o'brien for smid, dubnyk, and marincin.

Think there's any truth to the rumour he's thinking about going back to the KHL?

Good, would have been ridiculous for him to just leave like that as soon as the going gets tough, struggle and emerge. Cheers

I see him requesting a trade before he bolts to Russia.

The oilers have so many small skilled wingers. He is getting lost in the shuffle.

How does this happen? its 5 games into his second season and were already talking him suggesting a trade or bolting to russia. Get a grip you monkeys. He'll be back when he's ready to perform. Stop yapping about him requesting a trade because right now, were not going to get fair value for a 1st overall pre-madonna who wants to leave 5 games into a drought. Im going to start calling you all leafs fans 2.0.

I can see them offering a trade. The oilers need to upgrade their defence and goaltending. They have too many young small skilled wingers. Its hockey and trade could possibly help both sides.

Also this is a rumor forum... if you don't like you can hit the big red X on the top right

Putz...wow you guys are just brilliant...my comment was valid, RNH embellished and since it wasn't the 1st time the Oilers "dove" for a penalty and because it was OT...NO CALL...LEAFS WIN!

You mean the call in the second when Yesseee makes contact to Nazim (north tower) Kadri's back and he go's flailing to the ice in one of the most magnificent "kessler's" of the season???? Yeah the refs made bad calls both ways, take your bluenwhite colored glasses off for 5 seconds, and use some objectivity if you are capable of it. If not, go troll somewhere else

Call in 2nd period vs call in OT...it shouldn't be different, but usually it is!

Eakins is my dream coach! This is the kind of coaching that wins championships. It would really suck if Yakupov took off for Russia, but it would only suck because they drafted the wrong guy. It is better to have a selfish player gone and lose all of the potential than have a cancerous attitude in the room...and by the sounds of some of those quotes he doesn't quite "get it" yet. "That's not my game, I don't like to skate a lot and hit a lot, I like it with the puck, etc. etc."

Then GO GET THE F'N PUCK ROOKIE! lol

Love this coach more every day.
