Oh yeah! I know exactly how useful he can be! I think his hard-nosed style with speed would fit well with Eakins' system.
- MaximumBone

Win/win for both Teams, Bruins get a dynamic RW to bolster scoring. Edmonton gets a #1, top 4 Dman and a solid bottom 6 PK specialist.

agree with that but Eberle did woke up a little yesterday so now he is save.
- AlEx_OiL

And maybe if Yek had the prime ice time he will wake up also. Eakins is riding a Top 6, not a Top 9. Who ever is on the 3rd line is not getting minutes, I can understand why Yak is dejected.

I don't actually believe that Ebs has woken up yet...not until he puts a few games together like the later part of last nights game.

The 2014 UFAs look pretty decent too. The Oilers would have to resign Dubnyk to make it to the 2015 UFA class and I doubt Duby is willing to sign a 1 year extension at this point in his career.

i doubt it too.. but a plug for a season or 2 isnt out of the question.

Well boo-(frank)in-hoo for Yaks. Stop floating and earn your ice time (frank)o.

Svedberg isn't a number one yet. Sure, he's got the potential to be, but not quite proven. Then we trade for a guy like Miller with the cap space we freed up!

I'm tired of plugs. This team needs a legit fix now.

Agreed with that,Yak needs to play with better players but that one is on the coach.

I think I'd go:

Hall- Nuge- Hemsky/Eberle (the line looked damn good offensively)
Perron- Gordon- Eberle/Hemsky
Gagner- Arco- Yak
Joensuu/Smyth- Acton- Gazdic (Gazzy has won all three of his fights)

- MaximumBone

all i want to see is line consistency. yak needs a center who he can work with and who he can build chemistry with. enough of the line jumbling.

SEriously though, why does Ebs get a free pass on floating and not Yak? Becasue he is Hall's buddy? Fack that. Ebs is making 6M...maybe he should get demoted to the 3rd and give Yak some Top 6 time for a few whole games.
- OilHorse

He is invisible most of the time -- I mentioned that numerous times in the other blog, and many others did as well, so he's not getting a free pass at all. One thing I can say though is that he is still producing (4 points in 5 games) and he did pretty damn good last game. Yak floats everywhere... And it's not like he isn't getting opportunities... He was getting a fair amount of PP time (where he looked like sh1t as well).

What did you think about that horrible call on JVR? did you think that was penalty worthy? Maybe the Franson slight push to little Nuge's head wasn't called due to Taylor Halls Oscar worthy dive whle he lifted Morgan Rielly's stick to his face for a complete bs call that led to a goal.. Oilers got exactly what they deserved last night. Actually they didn't deserve a point at all.. I lost a lot of respect for that team last night with the diving and what not.. Maybe Eakins has been watching the mighty ducks movie? Take the fall! Act hurt! Get indignant!

So explain why the 6M dollar floater gets a free ride?

Don't get me wrong, every one of these guys needs to buy into the system and bust their asses off, but it looks like the coaching has chosen to bench Yak
while Ebs gets off for basically the same issues.

He'd better be, because that's why he was benched. Eakins isn't (frank)ing around. I love Yak but early on he's looked stoned out there.

I was actually a bit of a fan of the "play a weaker centre with Hall and Yaks" scheme from last year (It was the best use of Horcoff for example). That being said hard to argue with the kind of offense Hall-Nuge-Ebs is generating and our Horcoff replacement Gordon has actually generated some nice chemistry with the top 6 wingers.

In the go ahead, I'd like to see Hall-Gagner-Yak or Hall-Arco-Yak have a shot, and I think you're right on about that Perron-Gordon pairing.

Very true, I think Svedberg is probably 2 years out from a #1 job. Play the A this year then spend 1 year as a back up.

I can agree with that...and that is something that was mentioned during the game in regards to TO. The Kessel line do everything together, they get along and have built a chemistry.

Edm is moving guys around like a (frank)ing game of twister. It is the new version of the MacBlender. Lets get some consistency.

Ebs gives better head, plus Eakins hates Russians.

Both need to move their legs more.

Ebs has still managed to produce and at least look like he's trying. Yaks has not. If you think the effort level between the two has been the same since the start then we won't agree.

From a fanbase that used to defend Tucker on a regular basis...that's rich.
