obviously we haven't drafted high enough to get the Kane's Toews, Tavares Stamkos's of the league but more and more kids are making jump straight from jr to nhl instead of playing jr till their 21 and then the AHL till their 25. The Devils just aren't going with the direction of the league they have blue print from 20 years ago and won't change it well guess what it's now broken and doesn't work time to fix it and start building a team that is: young, big, skilled, and fast. You can have guys that are 6'4 215 and be physical, fast and skilled you don't guys who are 40 and 230+ lbs that have some skill but no speed. If we wanted guys like that we should of picked up Eric Daze after the 03 lock out all those guys got weened out once the league got faster.

We need some speed desperately in lineup. Why i want Jo in and Teddy to get a real look. Need to do something cause how PDB has used his personnel so far is pathetic. 1 line with chemistry and every other line and dpair looks lost out there together. We actually had a camp this year really no excuses and im sick of hearing about the new faces....All the new guys have been fine. Maybe if they had consistent linemates day to day some chemistry would actually develop.

I never liked Clowe on San Jose and now I remember why. He is so in and out of the game. This year mostly out. If he's slow, at least make up for it with board play and play in front of the net. But you don't even know he's on the ice unless he is late to back check.

Or we where close. The guy doesn't seem to have a clue. I don't what he is watching cause guys are losing battles all over the ice in our end in their end in the neutral zone. We lose every race to the puck... no surprise but the thing is the give up once they know they aren't getting it they don't finish their checks or get in a spot to get the puck of the guy who just beat them or take away passing lanes. The crappy thing is we don't play till thursday so we have to wait a while to see if the boys of learned anything if they lose again thursday something has to happened. I would rather something happen before thursday but no one seems to be desperate enough from the players all the way up to management.

If he had of been able to get that fight going with Bogo he might of fired the boys up but he needs to be more consistant in crashing the net can't just do it once a game you have to do it every shift you get. Elias can create chances like anyone but the last 3 years it's been getting harder and harder for him to bury them 5 years ago he would of had that goal no questions asked.

It isn't going to be good if we are a lottery pick without a first. There is certainly time to turn it around but it is looking pretty bleak right now.

He has been pretty good on the PP for whatever that's worth cause our PP sucks. HE is better with the puck then I thought he would be. I thought he did well in the Glass fight but he also could of ran away with that one but he took some punches and looked like he didn't want more and mutually stopped. Glass isn't that good of a fighter either he is like the new Zach Stortini . To me Clowe did what Clarkson usually did which was stand up for his team mates but after taking a few stopped throwing and kind of turned his head and waited for the refs to get in and luckily for him Glass didn't want anymore either.

I don't feel like looking at everyone's roster but i have feeling they have more than 2 guys under 24 in just about every teams lineup. And if not the core of the team is probably 27-32 not 33-42....We have forgotten how to draft it would seem.

I wouldn't be against a new head scout the guy has been here long enough. It's like Buffalo getting rid of Ruff. He was good for them for a while but it was his time to go just like it's Conte's. We need a new brain in the organization someone who thinks the new game. Would of been nice to hire Brian Burke in the same type of non GM role that Calgary did just to have a second opinion and another good hockey mind.

It's a great idea when you have a guy as loyal as Lou. Someone to let him know which players have the value to be loyal to like the Marty's and Elias' but not the fringe NHLers like Sal and Zid.

Absolutely every game I watch I see a bunch of young guys playing. Even if say we were to dress Teddy just his speed alone would help open up space for his line mates.Doesn't even have to score to be useful we are so slow play anyone with some damn speed.

Colorado went young a few years ago, developed their talent, and although its very early in the season, it looks like they are going to be competitive moving forward. I know Lou didn't want to rebuild with Marty in his last seasons, but this collection of veterans just don't think they are going to gel. Again, I hope I'm wrong. But it just looks like the wrong mix of speed.
