This is the first Devils team I've watched that is satisfied with losing. Even under Maclean the team would at least try and show a little fire, this team acts like there's nothing wrong and they are 0-7.

I would say we should sell our vets to get back into the first round, but we have nothing of value to trade away. All the guys who were just signed this summer aren't going anywhere yet. It is this squad or bust this year.

Hate to say it, but Henrique is probably overrated and likely the center piece in the next Devils' deal.

I think he was just Kovy's Chris Kunitz/Rob Brown just like Zajac was Parise's Rob Brown.

I'd have so many ideas... but what good are they? This year is 2010-11 happening all over again, and we get no lottery pick.

I think the season can be salvaged. I don't think the season can be salvaged with this team and I've lost faith in the coach. Lou's gotta do something smart to make up for the last two years of his being somewhat stupid.

I think Henrique has looked much better then Zajac... Zajac isn't going anywhere though. I remembered I laughed so hard when Grabo got 5 and I defended Zajac's contract. Now I just feel like an idiot.

Wouldn't mind getting any of: Voynov, Goligoski, Leddy, Vlasic. But we don't have assets to trade.

Lack of pride on this team....Every game so far it has been evident the other team wants it more. Not one game this year have we deserved to win.

Want to see Josefson playing enough of scratching this kid. Teddy needs a chance and not one game on line 4. I mean an actually chance like he got with Jacques. Gelinas and Merril probably should both be on the team. Rather lose with them in the lineup and when they make a mistake at least it makes sense. Unlike watching 10 year vets abandoning the front of the net on a consistent basis...How worse can the rookies honestly be? We are watching a poop show on D night after night.

Call up the young guys.

Worst case scenario: they're just as bad and at least they get some god damn NHL experience.

Trade volchenkov to Edmonton for a 4th

I don't even know what to say anymore. Stubbornness of this franchise is killing it. How to develope players 10 years ago isn't how you do it anymore.... someone needs to tell Lou and Co it's 2013 almost 14 not 1999. You could get away with your old slow D back then because every player was 6'4 and slow as (frank) now guys like wheeler are 6'6 and faster then every single Devils player.

We have been physically embarrased in every game so far and I know thats a small part but its embarrassing when you have guys like harrold getting wallpapered every game and other guys pushing us around in front of our goalie like can we not get some big fast players who arent afraid to muck it up they seriously made us look tiny tonight and for us having plenty of guys with size its just pathetic. Clowe crashed the net once we need guys who aren't afraid to do that every single time and still be strong skaters.

Agreed, the Devils or should I say Lou went out and got bigger, stronger and SLOWER guys because he thought this team needed size. So in comes Clowe, Ryder, Jagr and Olesz and the Devils still are getting killed with the hits. They get out-hit every game. I'll admit I'm not a fan of Clowe or Jagr and I would of rather gone with skill and speed (aka Brunner type players) and signed Grabovski who only signed for 1yr 3mil then the "Clowe and Jagr" type players who are older, slower and make more money. Most fans will want DeBoer gone but there is plenty of blame to go around and it starts at the top.

This might have been the most annoying of all the losses because we didn't get a point and you knew there was zero chance we were scoring when down 1-0.

4 days to wait till the next game. I don't know if that is bad or good. We need one of the young D up now. How much worse can it be? Among other things our puck possession isn't very good and we don't consistently sustain forechecking pressure. That's the one thing we should be able to do well. And we really only did it for one shift. The first shift of the game where we drew a penalty. I'm usually patient, but again, how much worse could the team be with Gelinas than it is now? Or with Merrill? Or with both?

Preaching to the choir. I've been thinking other than Fayne i dont think we have developed any Dmen since the first lockout. There have been others but they didn't play much for us and if they did they were fighters. (Fraser, Brookbank)
Literally every team in the NHL plays there youth but us...

it's one thing to get out hit because you might have the puck more but there is zero push back it's like someone has these guys on estrogen or something.

I never liked Clowe on San Jose and now I remember why. He is so in and out of the game. This year mostly out. If he's slow, at least make up for it with board play and play in front of the net. But you don't even know he's on the ice unless he is late to back check.

obviously we haven't drafted high enough to get the Kane's Toews, Tavares Stamkos's of the league but more and more kids are making jump straight from jr to nhl instead of playing jr till their 21 and then the AHL till their 25. The Devils just aren't going with the direction of the league they have blue print from 20 years ago and won't change it well guess what it's now broken and doesn't work time to fix it and start building a team that is: young, big, skilled, and fast. You can have guys that are 6'4 215 and be physical, fast and skilled you don't guys who are 40 and 230+ lbs that have some skill but no speed. If we wanted guys like that we should of picked up Eric Daze after the 03 lock out all those guys got weened out once the league got faster.

Nope he wouldn't. First three round of the next 10 drafts we need to only draft forwards. 4-7 you can draft all the D you want we need to replace all the forward talent that has left and find a new identity.
