Agreed, this was the perfect opportunity to give him a shot at a top 6 slot with these injuries because so many people say he can't really hold down a 3rd/4th line slot with his defensive deficiencies.

Im sure both these guys will bring energy which is nice, not sure about how much O skill though.

Losing Hartnell and Vinny is a blessing in disguise. This team needed a shakeup and without a trade this is the only way to get it.

I've been really disappointed in the players who just got new contracts. Simmonds looks terrible. Giroux isn't playing like an 8mil. a yr player.

I really think a shakeup of players will be needed as well. These guys aren't going to fit into a defense first system. In my opinion.

If these guys play well maybe it makes one of the other guys expendable. We have way too many guys making good money to poop the bed.

Yeah, anyone taking Hartnell would want some of his cap hit included.

It seems to me that our management is so hung up on finding a true replacement for Pronger, they keep making all of these lesser moves trying to convince themselves they can do without one.

I think in order to find closure and move forward with whatever, a trade will be made sooner than later; whether it is by Homer or Hexy, I think we get our D-man. I also think that there is no-one untouchable on this team anymore.

And not to pile on Homer while he is down, but Giroux's struggles are even more disconcerting since that hideous contract doesn't even kick in until next year. I still don't understand why we needed to make him the highest paid player.

Having said that, I still think there is plenty of time to turn things around, the forward corps will begin to be productive enough to win us games we should lose, and luckily enough, we might have a goalie or two who can win us a game we should lose as well.
