It's obvious why. And Berube has already got this team headed in the right direction. Or you can just blindly look at the score.

Really ... Until this front office actually addresses issues instead of overpaying has Beens and not-quite-yets... This team IMO is doomed to be mediocre or win the second round sweepstakes...

Flyers generated 29 even strength shots. They had boatloads of offensive chances. And yes, Berube has them headed in the right direction.

And lost 5-2, and are arguably the worst team in the League.

This season will be a trainwreck, take it to the bank.

I'd like to see a big trade. As far as McGinn, my opinion of him is high enough to say that I wouldn't mind seeing Hartnell traded if McGinn takes his roster spot. I wouldn't mind seeing Hartnell and Voracek go in a package for a #1 dman, and I'd love to see Coburn go anywhere but here.

I'd like to keep Jake, Read, Giroux and ideally the Schenn's around.

The rest of them? I could give a rats ass. Honestly I like Coots, and its always great to have a solid shutdown guy, but if that's all he is going to be, he becomes expendable in the right deal.

I'm not ready to write the season off but the wasted money in the offseason is a joke

I don't want to hear there were a lot of things to like. The things to dislike greatly outweigh the things to like. For example, the goaltending was piss poor tonight. He blew 3 of the 4 goals via bad positioning or flat out missing an unobstructed puck. Coburn continually asked "to do too much", by flubbing on a wide open net, not moving his feet in the defensive zone, and taking in opportune penalties. And they still have zero clue of what they are supposed to do in the offensive zone. It's not going to get better. This team is what they are.... 23-47-12 will be their record this year.

23 wins? that seems like an awful lot.

Timmy just asked Ray what was up with the PK...must have been frustrating watching a PP that went goalless up until now to score 3 goals in 6 chances. Have any reaction?

I woulda looked at him and just said "It's the Red Wings"

I understand the frustration. And obviously the score is all that really matters. But when a team gets in the situation they're in. You don't come right out of it. It comes in steps. And you can see the improvement in a lot of areas. Still obviously a lot of work left to do. I thought the Flyers were the better team at ES. I'm looking for progress. I'm looking for the team to head in the right direction. I'm seeing signs of that.

i agree, and that's fine (not really). get a top 5 pick, dump the dead weight, and keep grooming the legit prospects.

Honestly, I don't see how anyone could look at a 20 year old kid who still hasn't played 2 full seasons worth of games, and say he's just about topped out. Doesn't make sense to me.

And suddenly, the 20 year old seasoned vet has stopped developing and has reached his offensive ceiling of being a 35 point player.

Ok.

Haha, I felt generous. In all honesty I think this season wi be worse then 2006-07. There are so many good teams in the league that the Flyers will be that "gimme" game for every team.

It should be painfully obvious that they need to re-build.

Snider can be pissed off all he wants, its the management that has built this poop show, and run it into the ground.

I have gut feeling a trade with Edmonton is coming. Not sure who for what, but Mactavish has a look of bewilderment also. Time to shuffle the deck a little, as long as it is a good hockey trade.

What a mess. Hextall needs to take over but not sure this will be a quick fix.
