So the Wingz fan, can't troll but you can?
- Yosimar89

Honestly its not even trolling.

Over the last few years they have turned into a joke of the league.

Sickening. Love that exciting way Berube has them playing though! Will really help stimulate the offense.

Lets bench Mez the guy who actually has a transition game and has been improving, but keep the other morons in.

There's no reason to panic because they are bad. They are just actually not a very good hockey team. There will be no playoffs. No Cup celebration. Just pray they get that top 5 pick, get a deifference maker and start clearing out salary and defensemen. Entertain offers for everyone of the team, including Giroux. See what you have in Mason. Please don't play Emery more then you have to.

Quick lets trade for Buff or Gardiner.

Maybe picking up the trash other teams are willing to give away isn't a good idea?

Don't mean to come off as a jerk here, but everyone who gushed over this flyers offseason needs to realize they got played

So that defensive system has really made this group look better hey?
- flyer_nutter

First of all, it's not a defensive system. That's inaccurate. I don't know where you're getting that from. The Flyers system play is absolutely improved. They are much better in all 3 zones. Did you not notice how many plays they broke up in the neutral zone? That created offense the other way? How much more sound they're forecheck scheme is, with much improved positioning.
This is not going to turn around over night. But in this game, regardless of the score, the Flyers were the better team at even strength.
This difference in the game was that the Flyers took too many penalties, and badly lost the special teams battle. And the Red Wings best players were their best players. Not the case with the Flyers.
There was a lot of things to like, and a lot of things not to like. Most obviously the score.

Small victories I guess. I'm starting to see that we dont have good team speed, especially on D. I think that has a landslide effect to many other areas of struggle

I'd like to see a big trade. As far as McGinn, my opinion of him is high enough to say that I wouldn't mind seeing Hartnell traded if McGinn takes his roster spot. I wouldn't mind seeing Hartnell and Voracek go in a package for a #1 dman, and I'd love to see Coburn go anywhere but here.

(frank)ing joke. What was Laviolette fired for again?

Holmgren has run this ship into the ground.

- flyer_nutter

It's obvious why. And Berube has already got this team headed in the right direction. Or you can just blindly look at the score.

Flyers generated 29 even strength shots. They had boatloads of offensive chances. And yes, Berube has them headed in the right direction.

I don't want to hear there were a lot of things to like. The things to dislike greatly outweigh the things to like. For example, the goaltending was piss poor tonight. He blew 3 of the 4 goals via bad positioning or flat out missing an unobstructed puck. Coburn continually asked "to do too much", by flubbing on a wide open net, not moving his feet in the defensive zone, and taking in opportune penalties. And they still have zero clue of what they are supposed to do in the offensive zone. It's not going to get better. This team is what they are.... 23-47-12 will be their record this year.
