Yeah...that team would probably not fit under the cap (I don't care enough to figure it out), but it's interesting to see how much talent has come and gone in trades or from not re-signing guys. I mean, aside from the defense, you could arguably field a pretty decent team with the people who are gone.

I for one am getting pretty sick of the constant roster turnovers, and I think it's one of the reasons why this team hasn't played like a team in quite a while.

I contend that they probably could have won a Cup by now w/ the original reload group from the earliest part of Homer's tenure.

So much serviceable talent was dumped since then due to a combination of cap reasons and to facilitate splashy moves... that initial squad had real chemistry and a come-from-behind identity. With Lavi at the helm reining in their off-ice activities, I'm thinking they could have been in a league w/ Chicago.

granted camp wasn't exactly thrilling but nothing in camp (went twice) or the preseason games made me think Staka is anywhere close to being ready for a NHL game but that's me

Losing Hartnell and Vinny is a blessing in disguise. This team needed a shakeup and without a trade this is the only way to get it.

I've been really disappointed in the players who just got new contracts. Simmonds looks terrible. Giroux isn't playing like an 8mil. a yr player.

I really think a shakeup of players will be needed as well. These guys aren't going to fit into a defense first system. In my opinion.
