First one? If so, there is nothing anybody can tell you to prepare you for it. Good luck.

The best part about kids is when they turn old enough and you don't even have to get up to go get a beer during a game. You just send them.

My eldest son laughs at this now but once I phoned him at his friends three streets away to come home and get me a beer.

Teaching my oldest to work a bottle opener is still one of my greatest achievements as a father. Now I'm working on my youngest. It's nice to have options.

Ah the old Zippo trick

I don't know how many asshairs I lost trying to show the kids how to do a blue flame and they were screwing with my lighter. I eventually had to quit smoking so it has been at least 7 years since my last mishap.

Hertl is reaching for the puck right before he gets hit. The kid just put himself in a vulnerable position, and I don't see a scenerio where Edler could do something different.

I don't think he gets suspended.

I am so tired of dumbass and wreck less players putting themselves into questionable positions and then expecting opposing players to let up on there hits . People need to responsible for the position they put themselves in .

Edler is a scum bag. What a cheap shot, deserves suspension. Next time don't be a wussy and check like a man. No one likes head hunters

The second one is way easier then the first. Kind of a "been there, done that" thing.

I think the Aquillinis should send Bettman and Shanny a copy of the Godfather and for every game a Canuck gets suspended now ,you take out their kneecaps. Start making them offers they can't refuse so they stop pissing on this sacred beloved club of ours.

That's bullpoop. You don't know his intent.

You're allowed to play the body if the puck is in the vicinity, which it is.

This is all on Hertl. He has his head down, and is leaning over reaching for the puck opening his body.

Edler has his elbow tucked, doesn't jump, and is preparing for a shoulder check, which it would have been had Hertl not leaned down and forward reaching for the puck.

Edler should not have to adjust his hit because Hertl has put himself in a vulnerable position, nor would he have been able to in such short notice.

Hell, there's even Hawks, Flames, and Sharks fans in here agreeing that it's a BS suspension.

When I look at this clip all I can think of is how similar it is to the Moore/Naslund hit a few years ago. A player reaching for the puck, putting himself in vulnerable position, and another player makes contact with the head.

I remember how outraged every Canuck fan I knew was that there wasn't any discipline at the time. That was in a far different era with a player who didn't have a suspension history and it led to maybe the ugliest incident in the league's history.

Moore deserved a suspension...so did Edler.

If I remember correctly the puck wasn't anywhere near naslunds stick where as the puck is touching this kids stick.

Moore actually touches the puck first, shovels it away and then elbows Nasland in the head.

He was reaching for it. Moore chose to hit Naslund, rather than go for the puck. It seems Edler did the exact same thing.

No one would complaing if there was a consistent number alloted . Chara slams a players head into the stanchion get 0 , Kessel uses his stick as a tomahawk and gets 0 regular season games. Then Edler wearing the Canuck jersey gets 3 .Rome has a clean hit and gets 4 .

I honestly would have more respect for the NHL if they just came out and said "We hate the Canucks ,die you mofos, you are getting 5 games"

Don't treat us like an idiot and try to bullsh!t your lame reasoning.

Hmmmm I don't know Edler may deserve a suspension, but IMO not 3 games. Clear intent on going for the head on moores head. Edler not so much.
