Edler is such a goon. Can't believe Hertl's head didn't come flying off his body after that headshot. How many months will Hertl miss from the concussion? |

You have a problem with, "I spun the Wheel of Justice and it landed on $5000 fine. However, as the video clearly shows, the wheel did not make a full revolution, so the punishment is void. The wheel was respun and, after making a full revolution, landed on 3 games." - jmatchett383
I would be much happier with that. At least it's honest—Shanahan's blown so much smoke up our asses it tastes like I just had a cigarette... |

Haha, 3 games for Edlers hit.
This fu(king league is turning into a Euro league. Here's a concept don't go into the boards reaching for a puck, when there is an opposing player lining you up.
This is a contact sport right? Hertl should either play in a non contact league or go into puck battle expecting to be hit.
And the icing rule is starting to become very noticeable in the speed of the game, it's like watch rec hockey. the dmen float back knowing they're going to get icing called, and it creates too many whistles. That rule basically removed an offensive portion of the game, and replaced it with floating. the game seems slower. |

Thank God we don't have much. This team would be in horrible shape. - Nucker101
Well, AV would have been let go much sooner though! |

True.
But we would have gone through like 10 coaches by now. And probably would have made more "big moves" than the Flyers. |

As a Canuck, how many does he get instead of ZERO? - Nucker101
Superstar. Same reason Malkin wasn't automatically suspended for Game 6 of the 2009 SCF. I am a BIG Shea Weber fan (favorite player) and he deserved 2 games for that, easy. |

3 games is ridiculous. We have seen many hits way worse that have gone unpenalized. Even the Downie hit was worse... and he is also a repeat offender. I dont' think either should have recieved a suspension. The ONLY reason Edler got suspended is because shaniban didn't want to hurt the sharks feelings after he suspended Stuart for an actual Head shot. One where the player was actually injured. |

Spin the wheel Shanny. I'm guessing he wins a free NHL prize pack, consisting of hat, coffee mug and blanket. Good luck Mike. |

We should instruct our players to put there helmets on loose so they fly off and opposing players can be suspended for no good reason. |

Like it or not, after the hits on Mike Smith and Eric Staal, Edler is now a guy with a reputation, and isn't going to get the benefit of the doubt. Just like Duncan Keith likely won't, either. |

I'm done talking about this sh!t, but only the Staal hit was dirty.
And that doesn't give the league a right to suspend him 3 games for a borderline hit at worst. (frank)ing bull sh!t. |

Keith barely got more (5 games) for a blatant elbow to the head targeting nothing but the head, without shoulder contact... It injured a superstar player in the league possibly shortening his career, and basically ending the canucks season because of the injury in the playoffs. He should have received a 15 game suspension based on Edler's 3 games for this.
Edit: and only a complete numpty would even compare the too.... Take off your hawk glasses and give yourself a slap in the face.... you need to wake the fawk up |

Exactly. So blatantly targeting another team's top goal scorer with an elbow that actually concussed the player is only worth 2 games extra? I guess that Keith was never suspended before, but Edler's hit on Staal was not in the NHL. |

any suspensions or dirty plays outside the NHL, do not factor into a suspension. The only thing that matters is whatever the fvck shanny had for breakfast and whether or not he had a good bowel movement.
This suspension is laughable. 3 games? 5k fine, nothing more is what it should have been. I'm not a Canuck or Shark fan, more of a neutral observer, and I'm not sure how the hell someone comes to that number of games for a hit that was partially from a player putting himself in a vulnerable situation, a hitter that showed no intent to target the head, no leaving his feet, or bringing his arms up, and no injury to the player who played his next regular shift. How does this add up to 3 games? |

The Eric Staal hit isn't counted as part of the repeat offender clause of the CBA since it happened outside of the NHL. This was a panic decision by Shanahan due to the helmet popping off and it being replayed ad nauseum on the sports channels that carry hockey as part of their highlight packages. We're going to start getting into the problems the NFL is getting where players are going to start going low and taking out knees if they want to hit someone. A knee/leg injury will end a career faster than a headshot will. There needs to be a proviso in the rule that the hittee needs to be responsible for keeping his head up and young players taught how to take a check properly. Much more of this and you could see hits slowly start to be taken out of the game by the players themselves to avoid being fined/suspended for incidental contact to the head.

Edler still thinks AV is the coach, pulling the typical Canuck garbage. Haha, im partially kidding because i havent been following the Canucks really too much. Honestly though i cant say i was surprised when i read that one of the Canucks might be facing a suspension. - BlazinMike
