Lapy wants the team to be better conditioned...so much for G and V eating McDonalds

has jak ever weighed in on him coming back so early from that? seemed sketchy/dumb to me
- -davies-

I agree, but how much was on Giroux for that?

If the Flyers want the top line to produce. Replace Hartnell with Read or Voracek.

Wondering if we could pry Eberle out of Edmonton for Simmonds and a throw in.

there was very little specifics and detail on what he actually injured and what was done to repair things...
so it would be hard to speculate on this

a fully severed tendon could take longer then a partially lacerated one, how many tendons and exactly where they were injured would be important to know, but this is info better kept under wraps.

especially the way Sidney likes to play whack a mole with Giroux's wrists

Why would you trade Simmonds before trading Hartnell?

Hartnell has a NMC and less value than the much younger Simmonds.

Just looked on CapGeek -- I can't believe Hartnell has a NMC. That's really messed up.

If not, I'd flip him to Buffalo for Stafford in a heartbeat, if only to get out from under the additional four freakin' years of his contract.

I never liked the length of that deal.

I do like Hartnell, but at some point expect diminishing returns.

I'd swap Read and Simmonds on the 1 & 3 lines. I like Simmonds' grit, but it's probably not going to help G break out and score.

He will get his 25 goals this year.
Pretty consistent on this.
35+? no way.

Yea Schenn-VL-Simmonds was a great line. Top line should be Read-G-Vorcek. Hartnell won't shoot for some reason, he makes awful passes instead. Read shoots, Gagne shoots we lack those kind of players. You think if Homer gets fired, Gagne will want to come back again?

5-shots on goal in 4-games is not going to get it done... he's always had to pump at least 2-shots per game on 14-15% SH to reach 20-25 goals.

I think he'll be at 11-12% shooting (like last season) and he's going to continue to struggle to get shots on net... he'll be lucky to reach 20 this year.

Its such a tough thing to kinda give advice on bec there are so many variables.. I am assuming that it was a pretty clean cut, so the repair portion of it was probably pretty routine. Rehabbing a tendon tear is always tends to vary patient to patient and always depends on which tendon(s) are involved. I never ended up hearing what tendons were involved and if they were wrist to hand (fingers)...

I do think we should all expect him to be less than 100% when it comes to doing most stick work stuff (soft passes, wrist shots, faceoffs).

I think he would come back now if Homer offered him the minimum. It seems like no one else has offered him a contract.

He's got money. I think his ego might be kinda bruised with regard to the Flyers. But right now, I'd welcome him back. He can be our Teemu Selanne.

Got to dump Mez, Coburn or Grossman first. Heard Edmonton is looking for a Dman, maybe they would take Coburn off our hands.

I'm not liking second-guessing the coach this early, but this is how I'd set up my lineup. I guess I'm second-guessing the GM, too, since I'd have McGinn up making room for Cou2rier and Read.

19 Scott Hartnell - 28 Claude Giroux - 93 Jakub Voracek
10 Brayden Schenn - 40 Vincent Lecavalier - 17 Wayne Simmonds
15 Tye McGinn - 14 Sean Couturier - 24 Matt Read
25 Max Talbot - 18 Adam Hall - 36 Zac Rinaldo

44 Kimmo Timonen - 22 Luke Schenn
32 Mark Streit - 5 Braydon Coburn
26 Erik Gustafsson - 41 Andrej Meszaros

35 Steve Mason
[29 Ray Emery]

Scratches: 37 Jay Rosehill (AHL), 8 Nicklas Grossmann (healthy), Kris Newbury (healthy), Hal Gill (healthy), Chris Pronger (LTIR, post-concussion syndrome).
-----

I totally hate how the defense could be great or terrible depending on health (Timonen, Meszy) or if they put on their thinking caps that night (Coburn, Schenn, Gus).
