Losing the games doesn't bother me one bit. I will still watch to see what we got. And see how they are progressing. If at all.

I think you mean regress

there is nothing wrong with either goalies and the team really did not do anything to deserve 1 point in any game

the team is a joke
the moves made this off season was a joke
a blah team that sucked last year and got worse this season

as long as we have the same gm, the same crap on the ice then you can do whatever the hell you want to at FNC if it's legal

boo
cheer

whatever you want

this team (frank)ing sucks

What were they supposed to do this off-season? No really I'm curious as to what you think. I'm glad they did nothing and are going into a full cleansing of the abomination that was the old culture/core. It's not pretty and it's not fair but like it or not this is our best shot at building a contender.

Let's face it, all the money in the world won't make Buffalo a desirable destination for top FA. We need to build through the draft and then once we have a good team then more players will be interested. Which brings me back to my original point, I don't want to be the leafs of 2008 and the Calgary Flames of 2011. I don't want this team taking shortcuts just to appease a fan base that's lost it's patience.

Don't get me wrong, I feel for long time sabres fans and you definitely don't deserve this but the fact is if the sabres had gone out a spent money we would have battled for 8th, missed out and be having the same (frank)ing conversation all over again. There is no quick fix that will make fans happy, rebuilding/retooling this team will be painful and fans will be upset. If there is one thing this management team is doing right it's the fact that they are staying the course with a full on rebuild (so far fingers crossed) and not letting angry fans force them to deviate and go all Denis Wideman or Jason Allison on our asses.

Everyone wanted change, they wanted an elite team that can sustain it's position amongst the NHL's elite. I know nobody likes to hear it but seriously, no pain no gain. I would much rather us be the laughing stock of the NHL for three years leading to say 6 years of elite hockey than constantly be in the middle trying to patch our team up with overpriced veterans.

As for Darcy, it's worth noting that even if he is totally incapable of being a reasonable GM, it's hard for him to screw up picking that high in the draft particularly because it's mostly Devine doing the picking.

/end sleep deprived rant.

Edit: I honestly don't remember/know what I just wrote

If they were going to rebuild

1. buyout Leino
2. move Vanek
3. move Miller
4. move Staff
5. do not trade for Hank, give someone like mcnabb, ruhwedel or gauthier leduc a shot

If they were going to compete
1.go after cooke, ryder, brunner and raymond up front
2. go after gilbert, ference and zidlicky on the back end

they are now on a pace where miller and vanek walk for nothing and this will send the rebuild back another 3 years IMO

All could still happen (except that last one...yea i got nothing for that )

I doubt they walk for nothing. I bet they at least get something for Vanek. Don't have much of a read on Miller though, would be nice if he re-signed at decent price. Or maybe they run the ship with Enroth?

Edit: oh god could you imagine if we had cooke this year...

Wasn't Leino injured and not able to be bought out?
