Can't say I'm shocked that they poop the bed in Calgary again, but I really expected Briere to not be invisible so far. He hasn't even had a sniff. - 3M

you have to give him some credit.
While his team was running around like headless chickens, constantly giving the puck to the Flames so they can counterattack, he kept the score close. It could have easily been a blowout after 50 minutes, when the Habs actually started to play. - stinger67

He can't give up rebounds like that first one Adam.
Wtf was he thinking on the Glencross deflection? - pete26
can't expect a goalie to never give up rebounds. it's going to happen. you need defenceman to clear those rebounds. in all honesty, who had the pooptier go of it last night:
Price? or the defencemen? |

I wouldn't be surprise to see some lines change if the Habs lose again against Edmonton.
I'd still like to see Pacioretty play with someone that won't drag him down like Desharnais has been doing for the last year.
And Brière makes me miss Michael Ryder ffs. |

25 shots, constant bombardement. - Fredobbface
Quality shots, and odd-man rushes where he had to make some difficult saves.
The quantity doesn't always tells you all.
You can have a "bombardment" of 45 shots, if they all are perimeter shots, or in the chest, does it mean the goalie had a stellar game? |

But you can't let that be your excuse night in night out. If you make 6millions+ a year you need to start being a difference maker. |

Gorges was horrible last night. Let's hope he's injured because theres another one who had a very average season last year.
... And who has a long term deal. |

I agree with this.
Price needs to start winning games for the team instead of just not losing them... if that makes sense. |

I'm not saying he sucks.
I'm saying he's not expected to have to:
a) make a save on a breakaway
b) make a save on a 2 on 1
c) win in the shootout
d) bail his defense out of trouble
e) steal a game every now and then
Well I'm sorry, but at 6.5 million per season, I'd expect him to do all of the above a few times a season. Of course, if the team in front of him only allowed shots from the red line at center ice, he'd be GREAT.
And I'm NOT talking about last night. The team stunk.

Absolutely.
A comedy of errors. Some of them unprovoked (see Subban pinching, leading to the first goal) |

i just think heaping blame on the goalie ignores the team's true deficiency. |

Mind you he was not the worst out there last night by a longshot. Price is the Dion Phaneuf of the goalies. He's alright but you'd expect more with his reputation and salary. |

Well if he's going to play like last night, I'd rather have a Pateryn or a Beaulieu in the lineup. |
