awesome blog today bill. shame i couldn't read it until now

i'm intrigued by the rino bit. it made zero sense to me that laviolette didn't give him a shot on the pk late last year (at least once they were mathematically out). and for a player like him, lappy is the absolute best player to model your game after. hopefully lappy's presence on the staff has a positive influence on zac

Per the discussion today, JVR is ripping it up tonight

Playing with Bozak, and Kessel he's going to have a monster year I'm afraid.

I think the danger of putting Rinaldo on the PK, is you have to hold your breath that he doesn't become over aggressive and put the team two men short.

It's too early to declare the Leafs the winner in the trade. Unfortunately I believe when the smoke clears they will win it decisively.

The two games sandwiched around their game with the Flyers the Panthers lost by a combined 14-2 score. If Mason didn't play lights out, the Flyers lose that game.

Hopefully with two more practices under their belts, we see some progression tomorrow night.

With a top 3 pick, do you draft Eli's potential replacement or a positional player. Me, I take Barr from UCLA or drop down into the 8-15 range and pick up multiple picks

Well since they wasted a pick on Nassib last year, they won't be drafting another QB without knowing what they have with him. They need help on defense. They are on the verge of allowing 30 points for the 8th time in the last 9 games.

I would much rather the birds picked Nassib than Barkley in the 4th. Barkley is a stiff, Nassib might be as we'll, but he has a much stronger arm. Regardless, I hated taking Barkey with that pick. Like the giants, they a lot of holes to fill

I wonder if we are going to see the same lines. What is the thinking for that first line? I'm not sure how that's helping Giroux unless hes being told to throw pucks on net so those guys can get rebounds.

Playing in the Northeast you need a big arm that can cut through the wind. These pretty boy Southern Cal QB's, Palmer, Sanchez, Leinart, Barkley, never pan out.

10 points in 4 games. If I'm not mistaken that gives him the highest point pace in the league.

Hartnell and Simmonds are similar players, get their noses dirty and score a bunch of their goals in front of the net. Giroux needs a skill guy to play with, that player is Voracek.

I would try Giroux with Simmonds, and Voracek.

Thats good news. Boy, would have been nice to see him in a Berube training camp, I would think this style suits his game more. Instead Holmgren was holding out hope

very good point. that's why it would've made a lot of sense to get him out there when the games didn't matter

The majority didn't like the Streit signing, largely based on the contract terms. I agree with that sentiment.
- PLindbergh31

i definitely wasn't a fan. i have to say i've been pretty happy with his play though. the contract is still scary, but he's somewhat alleviated my fears over the caliber of his play
