Why not just waive Rosehill and let Laughton play???
- Jimmygrazz

Because he's not crosby. Let him dominate in jr's and spend some time in ahl next year. It's not going to hurt him. It'll help him in the long run. Like Toronto did with kadri. No need to rush him.

Laughton could only be recalled from Juniors on an emergency basis for a game or two. They aren't close to meeting that criteria. Laughton is in Juniors to stay until his Junior Season is over. In which time he can go to the Phantoms I believe for the rest of the year.

Bill, your thoughts on Coots for gardiner? I haven't seen enough of gardiner to say. I know he played with Shultz In college and have seen him a little in Toronto. I listen to Toronto sports radio and they seem to be high on gardiner but then again it's sports radio

Not worth it. I am wondering who will be UFAs on D this TDL? There is no doubt to me we need help, and with a lot of our prospects still a ways away, maybe we can look at a trade for TDL or UFA offseason.

There is such a log-jam at center for this team, who knows when he will get a shot to crack the top 3.

I would not trade Couturier for Gardiner.

I'd have interest in seeing the Flyers pursue Gardiner. As far as what it would take to get the deal done, I don't know. I haven't heard.

Dreger said it would talk a top forward or something to that level

"If Berube would have voluntarily elected to put his own team down by two men for a full two minutes with his team defending a one-goal lead in the third period, his NHL head coaching career should have ended after one game."

Amen.

The odds of a team scoring on a 2-minute 5-on-3 are FAR greater than a 4-minute 5-on-4.

That's a pretty weak list, and the few I would be interested in will probably be re-signed by their own teams long before July 1st.

To expect Berube or a member of his coaching staff to publicly humiliate his own already-embarrassed player shows a fundamental lack of knowledge of management dynamics, much less the way hockey coaching works. Even if Berube planned to fine Rosehill or scratch him next game as a direct result of the incident, he wasn't about to announce it publicly (nor should he).

Bill, you nailed it with this quote and it's kinda obvious that the guy who asked that question of Berube either had no idea as to how the dynamics work or if he did, he was just trying to get a rise out of someone.

If the Flyers could get a goon to play on a skill line and score 30 like Homer did, I'd look forward to seeing him play.

Good stuff, Bill. I still can't agree on Rosehill having a spot on a NHL roster. He does skate as well as any designated goon and can provide physical play besides fighting, but I still doubt he's anywhere near the NHL if he couldn't fight.

But other than that, really good stuff on getting the info from Fraser & Stewart. I doubt anyone else even thought to look into that situation and investigate what the deal was. So Kudos

- Jsaquella

Seconded. Fraser & Stewart were probably the last two referees whose work I liked. Most nowadays I either loathe their refereeing or am "Meh" toward it. Paul Stewart may well be my favorite ref of all time. Evening things up wasn't prevalent in his games, he called an honest game and did not aspire to some fabricated "balance."

I'd gladly welcome Byfuglien, if the Jets would take Nick Grossmann's contract off our hands.

i liked the idea of rosehill seeing a player outnumbered and going to his rescue but i think he should have seen who that player was and based his 'decision' on that. rinaldo can easily handle that and in the event something would happen w/ 4 opposing players roughing him up, i think it would have at least cancelled out the panthers' impending PP (which may have been rinaldo's goal in skating into the fray?)
if Giroux or timonen are out there, by all means, but zac can handle it

I wouldn't take Byfuglien even if they's take Pronger's contract off our hands. If the Flyers wanted to trade Grossmann, it wouldn't be that hard to do. The contract isn't a hindrance.

Can't he also go to the Flyers (if they wanted him to)? I seem to remember Ryan Parent playing maybe 2 games with the Phantoms at the end of the year and then 1 game with the Flyers later.
