What context? The one where you implied nash is injury prone and will never play a full season and suffer from concussions for the rest of his career?

If you were being sarcastic, then I apologize.

- rangerdanger94

That was actually me that said that he will likely never be able to play a full schedule. End of the day I doubt he gets bought out; probably not even a thought Sather will entertain.

Solely a hypothetical question because there is no basis in which we can determine what Sather would want to do this summer, in regards to current player contracts.

You went from declaring them cup champions and offensive powerhouses a month ago to not winning a game come on now

people always say "Ranger fans think they are Cup champions" when I know for a fact nobody on this blog was beating that drum this summer

It's those same detractors that think the Rangers buy every player on the market.

Joe Thornton would unzip his pants if he scored four goals

Hearing a question to Marleau about Hertl and whether he was showboating, Thornton said:
“Shut up, have you ever played the game?”
.
When the press turned his way, he then added:
“I’d have my cock out if I scored four goals. I’d have my cock out, stroking it.”
OK, then.

I actually saw a lot more Islanders fans claiming they are going to the promised land this summer than I did Ranger fans.

i really hope things get better for this team. they really have no choice but to improve because if they dont, hank is gone. hes going to want to go to a real team. its a cross roads for this team right now. dark days ahead if this season is a stinker. im really trying to maintain hope, but with nash re-concussed, things could get ugly real fast.

what's scary is if you try to hang your hat on the King game, where they played phenomenally, Rick Nash was the best player on the ice.

"If Nash is back in a game or two with no setbacks, then yes, it's likely fair. If not, then this gets into a broader discussion as to whether suspensions should be tied how long a player is out"

No this is absolutely ridiculous and should not even be considered as the length of a players absence due to injury, can in no way be proven that it was solely due to offending play by a particular player. In the course of a regular 82 game schedule, practices and what the player does off the ice, any one or a number of things could contribute to how long a player is out, due to the single suspend-able infraction. Could be entirely a result of the single head shot, or have other underlying factors. No way to prove it so it should remain based on a players history of suspensions, and the type of play on the ice that lead to the infraction.

- ruttager17

I agree with you to a point but how is it fair that a player can be suspended for three games when the player he injured could conceivably miss 10, 15 or 20 games; perhaps even the balance of the season or the player's career (see: Savard, Marc). A three game suspension pales in comparison to what could happen to the player hit.

There is no easy answers to the question but I can understand why this particular question is asked. You make some fair points but it seems the disciplinary committee has a hard enough time guaranteeing consistency in the penalty process.

this is a ranger haters dream right now. if you want to indulge in the misery, read some of the hater comments on facebook and other forums. its like the entire fan base of the league is united in despising the rangers. aren't there other teams to hate?

Brian Boyle, Derick Brassard, Mats Zuccarello
Taylor Pyatt, Derek Stepan, Jesper Fast
Derek Dorsett, Dominic Moore, Arron Asham

These lines are atrocious,if we win another game on this trip I'll be amazed, another great start

- cranford93

Even with Nash and Hagelin they look atrocious.

Realistically:
1st liners - Nash
2nd - Richards, Stepan, Brassard
3rd & 4th - the rest of the roster

Sucks big time

No, it's totally cool to hate NY teams. Fuk em.

I'm willing to give the team 1/2 a year. If we are looking like we're out of contention at that point, I'm ok with blowing it up. Fire Sather, or send him out to pasture with an offer he can't refuse. Trade Lundqvist and Girardi, buyout Richards at season's end.

I think so... a great 3rd liner, but he isn't a goal scorer and not a 2nd line guy for me. I also compare him to other captains and think he is a little overrated unfortunately
