I'm thinking of our anti-Amac group more like the Wyatts...
"we're here"...

I am pro Amac so that makes us rivals?

No offense to the Yankees but they suck now and this is coming from someone who absolutely hates baseball and doesn't consider it a sport

The Isles winning has taken the steam out of the Wolfpack. Another group might be a good idea.

Cpt, I enjoy your posts...but I don't see AMAC being traded unless he is asking for the moon. While I agree he isn't a 1st pairing defenseman, I think AMAC and Hamonic are a good pairing. I would think the 1st pair defensemen soon will be Reinhart and Puloch (sp)...
- kear20

I didn't say i see him being traded but I do see it being a mistake keeping him. I have a hard time understanding why people on here(and i say "on here" because outside of here(hockeybuzz) I know not one Islander fan that thinks AMAC is good)think he's a good Dman. The guy makes blatantly horrible plays on a consistent basis. Gets outmuscled consistently. If management thinks he's a core player and an integral part of our defense that doesn't say a whole hell of a lot about them. I'm done on this subject, repeating myself

What makes you think they are going to move on from him? They didnt give him an "A" for nothing. I think Snow is going to look to sign him longer term when his contract is up.
Giving him the A made me scratch my head to be honest...would have preferred it they gave it to Neilsen or Bailey. Even Clutterbuck.

The bottom line is there are 23 roster spots. 2 for goaltenders. 21 for forwards and d-men. The Isles can't keep everyone. It they keep everyone, there's no room for prospects. Some guys are going to have to go to make tool for the guys like Strome, Lee, Reinhart, de Haan, Pulock, Sundstrom, etc. with their deals expiring, it seems like Moulson and A-Mac are possibly headed out.

Agreed...This has been my point with guys like PA, Moulson and A-Mac. It's not necessarily whether you like these guys and want them here NOW, it's whether signing them to 4-5 year extensions make sense given the pipeline of talent that should be rolling through here. AMac is fine as a #6 or 7 dman, but on a true contender, he shouldn't be sniffing the top 4. Moulson is great to have around on our LW banging home JT's rebounds, but dont' you hope we might find someone better there within 4-5 years?
I could make a far greater case for MM than Amac or even PA at that time. Though PA's expendability had largely to do (IMO) with the limitations on that position set forth due to Moulsons spot on the LW.

Amen Jethro. There is no room to keep everyone. While the Isles made the playoffs last year, they have won nothing yet and cannot afford to get attached to everyone.

Moulson I can see bringing back. His numbers speak for themselves. A-Mac is a prime candidate to get "Streit-ed". The team is not going to want to be married to A-Mac for 4-5 years at $4M per or so with the guys they have coming up.

Guessing that either Nelson or Bouchard sits to make room for Clutterbuck tomorrow vs. Hawks. No word from Capuano until tomorrow AM.

Potential Brock Nelson scratch freakout time!

Definitely would prefer Bouchard sit. I can see them keeping Regin in because of faceoffs, which is primarily what he was signed for. I hate to see Nelson lose playing time, though a game or two won't hurt.

I think we'd all prefer to see Bouchard sit. I've liked Regin to this point and Nelson has played pretty well for a rookie. Bouchard is completely non-existent out there.

So by all means it should be nelson that sits. Sounds like something Capuano would do.

Softy PMB or big young forward Nelson against the champs? Tough choice.

He will probably have Snow sign Reasoner for a one game contract to get us through this one with his veteran leadership.
