Guessing that either Nelson or Bouchard sits to make room for Clutterbuck tomorrow vs. Hawks. No word from Capuano until tomorrow AM.

Potential Brock Nelson scratch freakout time!

Now there's some insight for ya. There isn't a guy on here that didn't know that 3 days ago.

The bottom line is there are 23 roster spots. 2 for goaltenders. 21 for forwards and d-men. The Isles can't keep everyone. It they keep everyone, there's no room for prospects. Some guys are going to have to go to make tool for the guys like Strome, Lee, Reinhart, de Haan, Pulock, Sundstrom, etc. with their deals expiring, it seems like Moulson and A-Mac are possibly headed out.
- Jethro09

As usual, great point.

Although in Moulson's case, I think they'll see somewhere down the middle. 3 years, 12-14 million range, I think would work for both sides.

So by all means it should be nelson that sits. Sounds like something Capuano would do.

called it. sadly. Hopefully in 3 months we're not referring to Bouchard as Reasoner 2.0.

I'd honestly be completely shocked if Moulson's extension were that low. His last contract was $9.4 million over 3 years. He's making $3.9 million this season. As I mentioned before, Moulson has to be well aware that the market for a guy with his stats is around 5 years $5.5-$6 million per season. I can't agree that a contract as you mentioned works for both sides in the case of Moulson since, at 30, this will likely be the biggest contract of his career. I think 3 years $12-14 million might very well be the Isles initial offer, but that should be well below what Matt evetually gets.

Moulson I can see bringing back. His numbers speak for themselves. A-Mac is a prime candidate to get "Streit-ed". The team is not going to want to be married to A-Mac for 4-5 years at $4M per or so with the guys they have coming up.
- Jethro09

I just don't think there is anyway that Snow doesn't resign Molson. I can see it both ways on why some of the guys on the boards sh!t on him and others love him. I personally think the guy serves a purpose and he does it well. He is a crappy skater, bad at D but his hands are great. You need guys like this to put the puck in the net. Between his excellent goal scoring ability and closeness with JT, I would be completely shocked if Molson isn't signed to a 4-6 year deal.

Amac to me is a bag full of candies mixed with some doodoo. Some nights he makes sick plays, blocks a ton of shots and puts himself on the line while others he gets blown by and brainfarts. I don't think he deserves the A but he isn't a terrible defenseman. He belongs in a 4-6 slot, not 1-2. Again, management obviously feels differently. With the plethora of big top tier D prospects that this team has, I don't see Amac here long term.

I think the return for him would be a lot less then many on here think? I believe most teams are aware he's a one trick pony and will probably amount to maybe an ok fwd at best without JT.

Yeah, I'm not one of them...I'd see him as a sweetener in a trade, not the focal point.

God, the Rangers really are crap right now. Good thing they fired their coach...he was definitely the problem . They went from being a team that played defense too much to one that doesn't play defense at all.

PS- That Phoenix team that our boys schooled the other night beat Detroit in Detroit this evening. I'm hoping that what that means is that the Isles are pretty good....

The Rangers look like when the Isles were baffled by trying to figure out Scott Gordon's "overspeed" system. I think they'll turn it around when they figure out how they're supposed to play under Vigneault and it comes a bit more naturally. But yeah, at this moment in the game, Anaheim's offense looks like the Harlem Globetrotters out there.

Yeah, I think that's exactly what it is....they look lost out there. Of course, it COULD be that their roster is not built for the type of game Vigneault likes to play, in which case you may see a lot of moves this year....I can't believe that Sather is on that much longer of a leash than his coach, at this point.

Maybe Torts was not the problem? How many years is Sather going to get to be GM? When is he going to get any blame after all the money he has spent without a Cup? The Knicks GM gets fired after the wins they had last year and he had the job for a short time.

I'm starting to think that the reason Tortorella made them play the way he did is because he knew they weren't all that good...

The bottom line is Sather should not be allowed to keep his job year after year while the Ranger coaches always have to take the fall. Sather should not be able to live off the Oiler days forever. I have to think Tortorella would have liked to play a more offensive system. The guy had success with Rangers. He was lousy with the media which hurt his case

If he scored 4 goals in a game(like Hertl did against the rags) he'd whip his cack out and start stroking it . Obviously Thorton has a bit of a drinking problem
