They are the exception not the rule. People use them as an excuse to resign guys like Vanek or Miller. If we can land a top 5 talent or 2, with our D prospects our future is incredibly bright

The team will improve as the year goes along barring a string of injuries. Next year I guess could be worse when VAnek and Miller are gone.

I think we are fine with out miller, vanek has only one goal so far this season. Hopefully it increase, but if not what do we have to lose.

I love how everyone brushes off what happened/happening to them because it was an anomaly. well guess what it happened to them it can happen to us.. and they even had much better drafting position than we have had to date. We are actually in a worse position than them so far because we haven't tanked enough..

It fits in every way. NSH needs O and EDM needs D.

Not really IMO. They still struggle because of goaltending, defense and a solid bottom 6. We have a boatload of young defensemen, a few top notch goalie prospects, and a few decent young forwards. All we need is that top bonafide center and we are well on our way

Darcy hasn't been doing the picking. Kevin Devine (assistant GM) has.

When they started their rebuilds I don't think they had any worth while prospects. If you count our rebuild as being started as of last years draft we started with a prospect pool that most people considered to be in the top half of the league.

If we can get a franchise forward to help pull the strings together then it's only a matter of time till they become a good team again.

Think of Calgary too. All of the sudden they gets this potential franchise center in Monahan and suddenly the team has some life in them. Our future is set on defense. Most likely Enroth and Hackett are the immediate future in net, and if Armia, Girgensons and Larsson pan out..... Add a top forward prospect and we look good

i think we need a winger as well... especially if we are going to lose Vanek.

Starting with the D is probably a good idea since they take longer to mature and a good defense can at least keep us in the game until we have the O and not kill all their confidence
