Stafford had a great game last night. Created handful of scoring chances, worked the corners hard, had a couple great defensive plays and backchecks. Its amazing how good of a game he has, and people still complained. Yeah yeah, he needs to be more consistent, but everyone does.

Vanek and Hodgson on the ice for what? All but 2 goals against this season? Vanek shouldve been involved in the play in the slot, instead of peeling out of the zone before our team secured the puck. Instead of coasting around actually skating to track the player down. But hes Tomas Vanek. Mr. 40 goal scorer. Mr. Captain. Mr Fan Favorite. Hes invincible from any criticism.

I don't think he chose edm over but because of the city itself, i think he chose it cuz of the pay. Not very often that a sophomore can get that kind of contract especially since the cap was way lower in 07 than it is now.

True. I don't hate Vanek. He's a really good player. Darcy just passed him off as something to build around instead of him being a complimentary peice like he is. IMO he's like Kessel, streaky goal scorer that shouldn't be the best player on your team

On the surface, it seems bad. However, Vanek was the only guy you could name a captain, and not have the rest of the league fall to the floor laughing. Nobody else garners that kind of respect league-wide on this roster except Miller. It's not even close.

He's a behind the scenes locker room leader. The way he plays on the ice isn't captain worthy nor should he change the way he plays because he's a captain

He won't change the way he plays. Steve Ott does what Steve Ott does because he isn't right in the head. A "C" doesn't change that. It's laughable because he isn't really captain material period.
