The Flames need to keep some of their vets (especially their captain) so this one is not gonna happen. But for arguments sake both Glencross and Giordano would fetch a prospect like Gardiner AND a high pick at the deadline.

The Leafs can spew all they want about not having a #1 goalie and that they'll go with the hot hand....however they gave up quite a few assets for Bernier when they already had Reimer and then extended Bernier for more money than they gave Reimer...actions speak louder then words.....

Yeah cause you wouldn't want a potential 40 goal scorer, that would make no sense. Especially for a goalie and defenseman that could both be expendable.

Why isn't he a potential 60 goal scorer? The glaring hole is a 1st line Centre, not winger. If I was making up rumours like Berger did, I would make up a better one.

You may have noticed that Reimer has been given two starts in 4 games to start the season and has been outplayed by Bernier. Do you really think Bernier would still be the 'real' #1 if Reimer had clearly outplayed him so far?

No expectations here so every win is a bonus... it's nice to have everyone say your team can't and then do...

I would wait to see what we have with baby McClement first.

first off I like Rimer, he can be a bit nerve racking at times but its fun to watch when he's on his game.If it wasn't for him there would have been on hope heading into last season and no playoffs for certain, But if the goaltending in Edmonton gets anymore unstable(remember Eakens loved Rimer with the Marlies) I think you'll see our old buddy shipped off in place of the more calm and positional goaltending of Jon B.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the discussion of Rielly making Gardiner tradeable started well before the season and has nothing to do with last night's loss.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, so forgive me if it has. I don't think anyone gets moved until we see that actual full roster play atleast 10 games. This could be late november or early december depending on injuries. Leafs have not played with a full roster yet. I think that if they find after havign played enough games with their full NHL roster they may move Raimer and maybe soemone else for prospects or picks...depending on the trade partner. I would think Leaf management would want to end any debate on goalie starter asap. That way when the playoffs roll around there will be no distraction.
