Oh Olli is young, eh?

That's Maatta problem!

He's playing well. I wonder what is going to happen come game #9.

Shero has a tough choice to make. I don't know if there is room for Maatta to sit in the pressbox (or wise for him to sit there) after Letang is back.

Fleury is playing composed and compact. He's not going down early, and he's popping right back up after a save.

We always remember Fleury's acrobatic saves, but when he's playing his best, he's making saves look routine.

Bortuzzo can be the #7 and fill the popcorn seats while Maatta plays.

The real question is, "Has Maatta's climb made Despres moveable?"

When I watch Maatta play, I think that he has to stay, but on off days I think the logic takes over and I realize the he probably goes back to junior.

Each game he's making it harder on Shero. What Maatta has against him, is that if he stays, Shero has to send someone else packing.

Trade nisk when letang is back and keep everything the same. Maatta and bortuzzo look good together. Bortuzzo is that anchor that allows maatta to join the rush. call Despres up whenever someone is injured.

I could bet Niskanen is on the move.

Maybe. But, It may be we are witnessing a supastar (Sorry Talbot) in the making! I am serious about the evolution of Maatta. Did not see it coming.

I'd actually like to see Despres and maatta make up the bottom pairing, but bortuzzo has been playing quite well

I believe Curtis Joseph said that if he is making highlight reel saves that just means he is out of position.

Dan really likes Nisk. I don't think he gets moved. It would not shock me to see them try to resign him.

If nothing else Shero has options, and when he has options he usually does good things.

So is this live blog format during the games something that should continue? Improved? Ditched?

Speaking of the wisdom of CuJo, in Friedman's 30 thoughts yesterday, he had this line talking about McKinnon:

"Curtis Joseph used to say a young player was ready if they could make the brief hesitation to set up the right play."

I thought of that quote several times tonight watching Maatta, like on that lead pass to Bennett.

It's good. If a game is static and the score is not changing no need for 3 period updates but all of you're comments on our comments are always welcome and usually on top of it. Don't let it go to you're big Western NY State head but you are blowing this out of the water. Any player skill and injury analysis is good too.

What format do you think would be better:

Posting new comments from top to bottom like it was tonight

or

Posting new comments at the top while the older ones continue to filter to the bottom?

It's been pretty good. I don't know if it's against the rules but you could mention places where we can find feeds for the Penguins games in the bottom of your article.

@emptynetters: Muller said Jokinen had a "big game" then declined a follow-up question on him saying he wasn't interested in talking about Jokinen.

I wouldn't want to discuss his game either. Not unless it was with my own team.

2 of his goals there was barely any effort to stick check him but he did a great job picking his spots.
