Clarkson in ....Ashton out
Kulemin in ....Bodie out
McLement in ....Smith out

McLaren in ....Devane out
Fraser in ....? out

And Ranger has had too many bad moments but that 2nd goal was primarily on Orr - he hung the D out to dry on what should have been an easy dump-in. If Orr's playing his 3-4 mins instead of nearly 10 last night ....Gardiner and Ranger safely get off the ice for the change.

those 2 are huge upgrades.
Fraser is decent. seems steady..so a small improvment also

I would assume the refs would not agree with you.
- bixll

I don't think there was a Leaf ref then, Lou was petitioning to get one because it was getting so bad.

I thought Ranger's conditioning was what was poor. Not reading the speed of the game.

On that goal, I know it was the end of a shift, but if you're playing at the pro-level you better have that extra gear to finish that play.

I can wait until Fraser is back and then I have no problem saying goodbye to Ranger. The waiting thing isn't going to work - he seems to actually be getting worse every game...

it will be rielly

sorry to burst your bubble.. he'll be exposed within the next couple of games

just you wait

Orr should have had that deep and the d were trying to change.... I guess you'll see what you want.

Orr (frank)ed up on that goal. Ranger and Gardiner were both heading off the ice on what should have been a routine dump in.

That is true. Though Ranger did (frank) up, it was Orr's job to dump that in. If he had, what happened wouldn't have

Where he really shines is in front of your net ,he is very abusive to forwards wanting to put up a screen

I'm not arguing that fact. I'm just saying, at the NHL level a little lunging poke-check when you're tired doesn't cut it.

I'd say its a coin flip. I still think Riley's future lays on what Nonis intends to do with Gardiner.

Doubt very much that the Leafs keep both.

I feel better now after that loss... now just stay healthy for the season and we should be ok....maybe

Just as a last thing as we don't want to stand around arguing about the same thing in circles.

The last time Ranger was an NHL defenseman and a "top-pairing" guy as the media tried so valiantly to prop up was the second last placed Lightning that got them Hedman. A defense that looked like this...probably the worst ever assembled

Ranger - Meszaros

Steve Eminger - Lukas Krajicek

Matt Smaby - Marek Malik

Cory Murphy (who?)

90% of these guys aren't in the NHL anymore...hint

okay, but it didnt help that ranger was doing snow angels at centre ice, then skated back into the zone covering the same man that Gardiner was...
was a recoverable play, ranger just panicked when he realized he was caught, he took the wrong lane back to his zone... no big deal, no need to start up the tank-nation train.
franking Bernier is to blame for letting the Avs back into the game on that first goal.... this guy stinks

I honestly think the forwards and goalie (s) are in place for us to go far, very far.

Honestly we just need to figure the D out and we can be a very good team. I think we have 3 or 4 out of 6 D we need. Maybe next year if Percy or MacWilliam is ready we have 4 or 5.

Morgan is a 19 year old kid who could be dominating and getting world experience this year in junior.

He also is a high risk PMD

Ranger is a solid stay at home guy (he'll come around just you wait) and they arent the same player. not even close. they have different jobs.

rielly will also get exposed as the vets find their mid season legs.. ranger is one of those vets who will get better as he finds his.
