Bill's blog has the same combinations, but with a 4th line.. Maybe they forgot to list it in the tweet

Based on the game simulation at practice, looks like Rosehill in and Newbury out.

Rosehill hall and Rinaldo I guess?

I don't see how Talbot is a weak link on the 3rd line.
- MJL

He's not good enough to be an everyday third liner. He excels as a 4th liner/PK guy. Couturier needs some size and strength on at least one of his wings, and if Read is RW then Talbot is the weak link.

It wasn't in the tweet because it's basically unchanged.

Rosehill/Newbury-Hall-Rinaldo.

Doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure it out

Didn't that happen to Marty Brodeur too?
- PhillySportsGuy

very similar play, from the same side of the ice, yes. brodeur's goal was in the playoffs, though.

Honestly between Rosehill and newbury, what's the big difference?

I disagree with that completely. I think Talbot is a solid fit on the 3rd line. Talbot is a physical player, who is normally solid defensively. And can chip in the odd goal here and there. Especially if they're going to match up that line against top lines.

Well, Newbury can actually play hockey, and would be a professional player even if he couldn't fight. If there was no fighting in hockey, Rosehill would be a bouncer or construction worker.

Jeff Carter's gone.
Matt Carle's gone.
Bryzgalov's gone.
Laviolette gone.

Yeah, seems like Homer's next on the scapegoat list.

you forgot the worst captain in Flyers history...Mike Richards...(cough, cough) and that horrible 2nd overall pick JVR...

A Hartnell and Simmonds combo isn't going to get Giroux going. Vorachek worked well with him last year.. why does it seem like its the wrong direction to pair them... it WORKED last year.

Maybe, but is there enough skill with Giroux in Hartnell and Simmonds?

Really not digging that top line, but maybe it will get Giroux and hartnell to stop trying to be so flashy and start grinding a bit more. I'm very down on Simmonds so far this year.

Its interesting to see Coburn dropped to the bottom pairing. Wonder if there is any meaning there, or if those are just 3 even defensive pairings. Tims and Schenn played will together, Gross and Burn played well together, lets see what Mez and Streit can do.
