I would add Luke Schenn to that list. He's been disappointing so far this Season.

Mike Sielski asked Berube after the game if he "has any punishment planned " for Rosehill.

Chief gave him the death stare.

"You want me to spank him? [Pause] Dumb question. Get lost!"

The give-and-take with Berube is going to be verrrrrry interesting, especially when they lose.

what I saw tonight, quite frankly, is a middle of the pack team at the very best. A slow aging defense and a lackluster offense. Good luck getting too .500 this year

Meszaros was an accident waiting to happen at ES, a black hole on the PP, and took a moronic cross checking penalty. He also is prone to having the puck dribble off the end of his stick for no apparent reason.

You're seeing a different player then I am. This is a player that is coming off major injuries, and hasn't played a lot of Hockey lately. So he is a little rusty with the puck. But his play is getting better and better with each game. And he was arguably the Flyers best defenseman tonight.

I would expect Berube to keep any feelings on that, in house.

I think Sielski is a marked man since badgering Snider about the "culture" of the team in the Berube presser.

glad for the win, but this was awful...

2 gift goals from thomas, who played like he thought he was tending an old timers game. otherwise, w/ virtually no zone time or sustained attack, they're still way out of sync- anemic. mason flat out stole the game. flyers only asset early on has been the goalies...go figure.

they can get their heads on straight, have their system down and find cohesion, but no amount of coaching can replace the dire need for a puck mover.

tough to watch...

- isaiah520

That's true -- it's really hard to get zone time or attack in waves with the roster composition the way it is.

What I've been talking about is something Brian Campbell did in the third period. The Flyers had the puck deep and had the beginning of a forecheck...and Campbell just took the puck, spun a couple of times, and skated it to safety and then fed the puck up to a forward, on the tape.

He broke that forecheck by himself.

That's all I'm saying.

could be ...

but whether he is or isn't, he's gotta phrase that question much better than that.

It's not about the roster composition. It's about how they play.

They cut away from the presser on the CSN post game show right after that question was asked. I was wondering what the response was. Thanks, Bill.

Mason was brilliant. Baby steps. They got hemmed in quite a few times and didn't dictate the play well. They supported the puck more consistently, but they have a lot of work to do.

Jay Rosehill has less brains than a single cell amoeba.

- Jsaquella

well outside of Rosehill at least it sounds like a step in the right direction and its really good to see Mason with another strong game.

BTW what did Rosehill do?

hard to tell from debuts ...

John Leclair's debut next to Lindros resulted in a 3 zip loss.

edit: no, that has nothing to do with coaching debuts.

He drew an initial penalty on a check he threw, which was an iffy call. But regardless when heading to the penalty box, there was another scrum, and he skated from right in the box door, over to the scrum, and got another roughing minor. Putting the FLyers down a man for 4:00 in a 1 goal game, in the 3rd period.

All I'm saying is I have no idea what people expected to see in that game tonight. What I saw was very close to max effort and a strong commitment to the new system. Didnt matter if they sucked at it tonight for me

rough night for the media, considering Sielski's question to Berube and Coatsy asking Coburn how it feels to finally score a goal.

What's the new system?

If that's close to max effort, the Flyers are going to get a very good pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.
