they don't suck enough to lose the way they did last night. that was ridiculous. Calgary is just brutal. but they work hard and they hit, and that's Montreal's kryptonite.

I didn't see the Journal de Montreal's front page this morning, but I'm guessing the headline looks like this

LE MESSAGE DE THERRIEN NE PASSE PLUS!

I thought this was our strength at forward?

Also, do we see Budaj tonight?

There's only one guy who thought it would work. Unfortunately he's coaching the team

Make that two.

The other guy being the one who signed them in the first place.

The problem with that line is that Pacioretty is the "sniper", so he has to position himself and wait for the puck, but the way that line plays so far is that they dump the puck, with Brière or Desharnais going in the corners to retrieve it. It's obviously not going to work.

Yeah, well, that's a problem in itself.

Wait for the tip-in isn't gonna do any good for that line.

Bad signings yes. But I have to think even he didn't see them together on a line.

Exactly, they need another big body on that line.

Any way you try to change the lines, there are too many smurfs on that lineup.

strength? not really at least not to me.

Eller's been doing it so far but I don't think you can rely on him to carry a line for an entire season and with Plekanec saddled with Gionta and Bourque it's tough for him to lend much of a hand.

They're in that familiar situation where they only have one line working and either you keep that line together and rely on them for all your scoring or you break them up and try to fire up other lines.

on defense, after Subban there isn't much ni terms of generating offense. Early in the season but Markov looks like he's lost not one but about 3 steps and it's not like they have a young Paul Ranger waiting in the AHL.

Pacioretty - Brière - Prust

Sit Desharnais for a game or 2.

Seriously though, if the Habs didn't wait for the last ten minutes of the game to start playing, the outcome would have probably been different last night.

The Flames were trying to protect a lead. It's not the first game they do that this season. It failed twice before last night.
