Now back to Belov, what do you think of him. - flyerdude17
Too early to tell. Looks like a good pickup so far. As for PP time it's going to be tough. We have a lot of forwards that play the point as well. Belov is getting time right now though, for how long I don't know. |

The guy can't play anymore & that's the reason he's sitting. Smyth coming back was the worst decision for both parties because it's going to make the over-the-hill forward look like an idiot when he sits all those games eating popcorn in the press box.
What a waste of a roster spot. |

Thanks, I got a keeper trade going on where I am trading PK Subban for JVR, Chara and Belov. If Belov looks like he has potential to stay and contribute in the future I will be doing this deal. It is early and Belov has to come through for me if I am going to win this trade long term. - flyerdude17
Any thoughts on this trade?? I love Subban but Chara helps for a couple years and JVR at 24 looks like he is about to be a big time scorer as early as this year. Below would be a bonus in this deal if he could score 25-30 points. |

All good things come to an end, Smyth should just retire and avoid all this talk. He has been heart and soul for the Oil and it is a shame to end this way. |

Ok, so Nuge is back---good, hopefully.
I remain convinced that for so long as we don't have a large, fast-skating winger on EACH of our top 2 offensive lines, they will both have limited effectiveness. Jonesu had a promising start, but we need a type of winger like Brent Burns. The Oil must give up value to obtain value. I'd think getting 2 more big wingers who can play line 1-2 minutes will enhance what our smaller young core can do, long-term.
As for a goalie, they'd better get something better, soon. There's got to be a back-up or 2 out there who can be had in exchange for a prospect and either Dubs or LaBarbara; someone like Lehner in Ottawa who really wants to be a number 1. Why the Oil didn't try for Bishop last year is beyond me. |

I didn't think this until seeing how poorly he is skating so far this season. He is done like dinner. |

Potter not in our league, Belov looks pretty good to me in the few shifts I have seen. Potter will never be in our league, thank somebody for that. |

We need a center to replace Gagner, so Arcobello is in. Gazdic, Brown, and Acton are playing good enough 4th line hockey and aren't the problem. So who's next? How bout the winger that is playing bad hockey while on a line with Hall and Hemsky?
If we had the luxury of getting rid of Arcobello, I bet he'd be gone, but we don't. |

Ryan Garner: Dear Smytty, Welcome to Health Scratchville. Population: You - Ryan Garner
maybe he just lied so u can make a big stink about it instead of the real reason he is out.. which is most like the fact that this is the more that eakins think give the team the best chance to wins.... i'm guessing that would make smitty pout more so then the reason eakins gave. |
