I see your viewpoint on this, but only agree to an extent as they psychology of letting in the weak ones can be more detrimental to a team, as well as tells the other team to just throw the puck on net, case in point, Saturday night in Vancouver. not giving up on the kid yet, just think his time to shine is running out.
- ruttager17

He is definitely on a shorter leash than most starters, but look league wide, there are a lot of great goalies with poopty numbers through 2 or 3 games.

Give the guy a fair chance. If there is no improvement over the next few games then maybe start to get a bit worried. But throwing him under the bus after 2 starts is a bit ridiculous.

We're a MUCH better FO team so far. Marcobello won 80% that game and is 59.8% on the season. Couple that with Gordon at 61%, Acton at 58%, and Hall and Nuge both around 50%, and things are looking up in that regard!
- MaximumBone

But when Frodo Gagner gets back no more Marcobello.

28 minutes on the night. He's already has as many shots as Yak does

Make no wonder... Eakins better start treating Yak right...

If the players let that get to them, they need to snap out of it. Dubnyk should wear a jersey with his save percentage last season on it.
- laughs2907

Im sure the team giving up multiple breakaways and odd man rushes gets to dubnyk sometimes too

True, but the oil get shelled a lot, if they dropped the shots by an average of 5 per game, no guarantee he lets in fewer goals, but his save percentage goes to poop.

Oh urine I don't mind... The feces would take a little getting used to. I usually ask complete strangers to urinate on me at least twice a week.

I am in no way throwing him under the bus, I agreed that it is only 2 games, just saying the types of goals he has let in worries me. Him being able to stop 32 or 37 shots a game is great, but does that get the job done for the team to make the playoffs and him to be a starter?

Was showering a guy who had a CVA (stroke) and first he took a big dump, went in to put pick it up and put it in the garbage and felt the golden stream on my arm that only a German could love. Also when I got home from school today, my dog had a nice pile of runny poop at the front door, knew there was a reason he was waiting at the door before I left in the morning. Been a poopty day all around...yes pun intended.

Naw, on average he does much better than that... That's like a .864 save percentage. Last season he was at .920... The year before that .914... The year before that .916

ooooops meant 32 of 37 not or. I don't argue or deny his numbers are great, just saying it is great if you can make a diving catch to take a hit away from a team, but if you are dropping the pop flys, those are the ones that tend to kill or cost a team the game. Obviously those game savers that you speak of are just that game savers, but doesn't it seem that those easy goals just tend to cost teams more often?

No I (frank)ed it up the first time, saying 32 or 37 saves a game means he is getting worked and doing well. I just meant the saves that should be made, are going in more consistently than they do for the top tenders in the league, at some point it is more than just consistently bad luck. Not giving up on the kid yet, but not as patient as I was a year or two ago.
