I think if you look at the immediate return then the Leafs are winning the trade. But by the time their careers are both done it will be seen as a fair deal, both teams got what they wanted.

Listen, like everyone on here, I hope that Gardiner figures things out in his own zone. I was the one that initiated that bet with HH when he said that he would not post on here if Gardiner was on the Leafs roster come Januray....
The 3-0 start by the Leafs is great but it's only 3 games into the season and the Leafs can definitely use a big shut down dman. If a trade were there to be had and it costs Gardiner, a postion/type of player the Leafs are flush in, then I personally would definitely consider it.
Gio is a guy I would LOVE to have in a Leafs uniform....but it's not going to happen.
And if you ask Calgary fans, 9 out of 10 would say no to that trade as well.

I will continue to support Gardiner and hope that he does in fact figure things out and become a stud and prove HH wrong....I will leave it at that.

All the new guys are playing amazing, I was always a huge Reimer fan but Bernier is always in control of the puck. good passer, no rebounds, good glove. Hard not to love it.

Yeah, I'm glad I haven't heard any real poop talk in the media about how they've had to scratch and claw for wins. When we were losing 3 times a week all the people in the know said "Good teams find a way to win when they aren't playing their best, and the Leafs don't grind out those wins."

I would have shook my head if I heard some of the dummies say "Well the Leafs don't look excellent every game and good teams play at their best every game." Which is what I've been waiting for.
