Yup there's the 100% true Leaf fans who never abandon the team in good or bad times. Than there is the closet Leaf fans who claim to be Leaf haters but when the Leafs start winning, those closet fans are Leaf fans once again.
Deep down inside, we ALL love the Leafs. |

Way too early to write-off Kadri as a #1. - RogerRoeper
Not writing him off at all.....U the one who wants to be a contender now..Kadri will take the #1 role about the same ime as Percy and Finn are ready to solidify the back end.. |

I heard it on the tube, someone responded having heard it too, basically, the early projections are just that-early. As the season goes it will be more clear, they may turn around and have a 70 plus cap too, but I just don't see how americans are gonna fork out even more money when their economy keeps getting worse, but hey. I want it to go way up, but as a GM I wouldn't risk banking on it. |

this team will make a step forward when those young guys are ready to play ful time in the NHL on their ELCs and we can move out a couple of higher priced dmen for forwards who can help (preferably centres) |

The Blues don't have that stud #1 centre but they certainly are one of the cup favourites. You add Boumeester to the Leafs defense and you are indeed a legit contender in the East. |

Under the old CBA, it went up no matter what. The American economy was terrible in years it was skyrocketing too.

I love the team, therefore i am the most critical of them. I don't pay enough attention to other teams to think about what they need to do too much. Watching the LEafs suck and still giving up time and money makes someone a true fan. I hate those guys that just cheer for the cup champs or whatever. |

U add Boumeester's contract and u have to remove the cap hit from somewhere else..Percy and Finn will be our cheap players when we ready to be cup contenders.. |

I used to be a card collector, but when I was the hype around Bouwmeester, was that he'd be the next Orr.... and although he is nowhere near that, and he might not be as offensive as you'd hoped, not sure there is maybe better Dman with the puck as him, especially in dangerous area's in the defensive zone, he is almost money.

??? During the iraq war the US and Canadian economy went nuts - military industrial complex and all that. It wasn't until after 2007 that things tanked and have been slowly tanking ever since. Hey man, I hope they do spend their money, but I think its up to Canadians if the cap is going to go up, and we gotta be close to maxed out, how much more money can people really afford to spend? The only other scenario is simply inflation, so the dollar value hasn't increased, just the cap number. |

Boumeester became very overrated in Florida as the next great # 1 D-Man. But as a minutes munching D-man now making 5.4 million per, he's a very good D-man to have. |

I freely admit this is nothing more than anecdotal evidence, but I've checked out a few US games on TV - an appalling amount of empty seats.
Although apparently that's normal for this time of year - which is why they were happy to lock out the players last year. |

The Cap's going to go up 3-4M just based on money from the 6 outdoor games.
Then you have to remember that this year's Cap was based on revenues from the year prior to the lockout...2011-2012. Two years ago.
The combination of the outdoor games' revenue and 2 years of normal expected revenue growth could easily push next year's Cap to 70M |

October in the states is apparently world-series and football oriented.
Like you were saying some owners last year tried to say they would be better off that year overall by not loosing what they normally loose in that month. |

first time i've heard 3 draft picks referred to as "not much". it was alot. if the Leafs re-sign him, good move. if not, bad move. unless they win the Cup this year. |

Vegas has the Blues and Canucks at the same odds; 14/1.
In comparison they have the Leafs and habs at 25/1, the rangers at 12/1 (which is fuked up).
Pens, Hawks, Bruins, and Kings are the favourites. |
