So does anyone else here get the impression that RC may be bad news with regards to developing Dmen?
I don't mind him working on Gardiner, as he needs to be better, but if he can't show patience then it may become trouble with Reilly too.
Gardiner doesn't need to go. He needs more time. It's not like much of the rest of the blueline has been spectacular. - AngryWhiteMale
How do you figure RC is bad news for developing dmen??
Did you not see him going over things with Gardiner the other day just before the game on the ipad?? |

So @darrendreger just told us on TSN Radio that a Philly source openly wondered whether Luke Schenn can even play anymore.

I did, and that's the kind of constructive work that he knows he needs to do.
It's just a case of seeing how patient he ends up being. With good goaltending there's lots of room to be patient and make sure that we're giving Jake enough time to work on things.

myers was never considered to be able to grow into a behemoth. He's a skater, a puck mover.
He's soft as butter in August. - burn
Even in his rookie season, he led the NHL in giveaways. He scored a lot and that was it. |

They should go after Lack. He is the best back up in the league right now, and there is no reason to think he won't be the solution to their dilemna. |

Well he won the Calder as a rookie. Had the sophmore slump the following season which happens. In his 3rd season, it was a shortened season. So he's still young & he's gots lots of time to improve. - GCHonda
So did Raycroft, so did Steve Mason. |

Maybe he is just trying the "less is more" strategy with Gardiner for a few games,
see if something clicks or not, maybe show him when to join the rush, when not to.
Carlyle back in the day wasn't a bad offensive Dman, he got his points when he played. |

Robyn Reghyr type Dman wouldn't be bad... - aries1976
Doubt the Kings will deal him. But yeah someone like him would go a long way to helping the Leafs, especially in the playoffs. |

The cap is going way up. I'd rather ditch Bolland to be honest. He's looked good but given injury concerns, we can't expect this every season. - RogerRoeper
Actually most of the projections in the summer are turning out bad. The media at least is now saying maybe 68 million. At best. I would disagree on Bolland. Thats the type of guy should be wearing a C in this league. |

Agreed. Kulemin goes before him. That's my opinion, for what it's worth. |

Way to expensive...We have prospects in the system..Finn/Blacker/Percy, imo we dont need to do anything just yet..Things looking good in the very near furtue.. |

Most did say 68-70 million for next year though. I never heard a projection above 70.
And Bolland's had a couple of "So-So" seasons prior to this one. He's a guy you need to really think about signing long-term.
I'd rather have Dion. |
