Thats what you get with Bogosian..

I think Kevin Bieksa is what this team really needs. A veteran presence, with good years still in him, shoots right and can play with an edge.

He would be a good addition but I doubt Vancouver parts with him.

Kadri 1st line - no
Lupul loves the cock and the puck so him and Phil are better off on different lines
Bozak needs to be out there for many draws - he plays lines 1 thru 3
Gardiner needs to CHANGE his game

- Garnie

Were talking hockey here bud not bums and Richardies...Kadri is a great player when he has the confidence of his coach...maybe Carlyle needs to stop being a player killer or Kadri will end up on another team laughn and thanking Carlyle for getting him traded just like all the others

Dont forget as much as players dislike him, there has been some really good player come out and say they owe their success to him as well. Gardiner might not like him but he may be the best thing for him.
- Yeti1181

True, there have been quite a few guys who have come out and said it. Maybe guys like Getzlaf or Perry would not have become so elite if it wasn't for him being tough on them. But still I'd had to see a young talent like Gardiner get moved because of Carlyle's ego. I think my biggest problem with Carlyle is that he plays favorites, and it doesn't always seem like his choices are based only off hockey choices.

If the Canucks falter, decide to move the twins, then they may be open to a partial rebuild. Maybe Gardiner for Bieksa could be doable. Of course there needs to be some cap considerations and maybe some draft picks going back and forth, but it's possible. They just picked up Horvat, for moving Schneider to New Jersey. We can hang on until the trade deadline and maybe that'll be the time to make our move.

He's the kind of guy you want on your team though. He get's other guys off there game.

Anyone know what his cap hit is?

Maybe so, but he wins. To me, that's all that matters. Sure, Gardiner is a talent and may develop into a great young rushing defenceman. We have a number of those type of players already. We need some more size and toughness, especially on the right side of our defence.

I'm generally against moving young talent for guys over 30, especially when that talent can one day win a Norris trophy if we don't ruin him. God I hope this Gardiner talk is just talk.

And he's 32 years old as well, I think there are a lot of teams who could use Kevin Bieksa and it would be nice to have him, but I don't see a way in which it could happen realistically.

I suppose it would be 1. Duchene 2. MacKinnon 3. Mitchell if we let Stastny walk or trade him at the deadline. O'reilly is playing left wing and is looking pretty good there. Maybe Stastny will accept a third line role though, he does love it here and I know Roy and Sakic like him.

If the Canucks falter and let the twins go, then they may be open to moving Bieksa, for younger talent. I too don't like to move young assets that could become stars. But that's the issue....could. We are getting close to the point with this team, that we might be able to make it to the next level and compete against the elite teams in the conference. One more good all around defenceman and shore up our centre position and we could be as good as Boston or Detroit. We now have very strong goaltending and a number of game breaking forwards. The Leafs are closer than most people think.

Ahhh I see. I thought O'Reilly playing the wing was a stopgap. Then I when it came time, it was Mac top line and kind of blurry as to Duchene/O'Reilly at 2c and neither being low quality enough for 3c duties.

I guess that makes sense if they intend on keeping him on the wing.

Has anyone else noticed how good Phaneuf has looked in the first few games this year? It seems like he always get's off to a good start and then falters but he seems to have a little bit more than the last couple years. Probably really motivated to play himself into a great contract but props to him, the thing I've noticed most is that he's been good defensively.
