What a lot of people don't realize is that the good first line centres are good 2 ways. If you aren't good two ways and play with kessel and jvr (terrible defensively) you get eaten alive.

As far as being two-players go:

Some people prefer a player that is 70% (offense) one way and 30% (defense) the other. (Grabo)
Some people prefer a 50%/50% player. (Bozak)

I agree. But i look at team need. Do we really need more offensive or defense? Anyone who thinks that the leafs are set defensively and need more scoring....well i just don't know where to start

Realistically if we had a top line center he be a good 2nd or great 3rd line guy. I like what he brings to the team just wish he was more offensively gifted for where he plays. Also possible they move kadri up top line, slide bolland to second and use bozak third and penalty kill. They only issue is now you are paying your third 4.5 mil.

But you'd be paying your 1c 2.9M next year. When kadri's due for a raise, cap could be north of $75M.

Bolland looks like an ideal 2c. Excellent 2-way player, in a larger offensive role could put up 50+ points.

Something has got to give in Colorado I would think. They've got 5 centers on the roster and Stastny is on the decline but UFA after this year.

I guess they could just let him walk and run 1) Nate Mackinnon, 2) Duchene and 3) O'Reilly after this year.

Bozak needs to be out there for many draws - he plays lines 1 thru 3
