Carlyle is not a players coach by any means but he finds ways to win games. I honestly still wish we gave Eakins the job. It does frustrate me that he seemed to favor Rielly over Gardiner at the end of the game, which was unwarranted. Carlye's way or the highway. But I guess the ends justify the means. - MapleLeafsFTW
i am with you, i think nonis should have fired carlyle when he took over and brought in Eakins.
he was familar with all the young guns and i think would do a better job overall in the long run. |

id say the players did that - with our best goaltending in 10 years.
and moreso burke than nonis or carlyle...who didnt call a timeout in game 7. - big_dion
Not re-hash that old wound but...... I always wonder about something. Here's RC, the guy won a cup in Anahiem. However, he stood idly by & did nothing to stop the game 7 collapse. You'd think he would know better. Call a timeout dammit!!!! |

Dont forget as much as players dislike him, there has been some really good player come out and say they owe their success to him as well. Gardiner might not like him but he may be the best thing for him. |

Rielly for one.
put his ass back in jr.
but yes i know. however they could of played him last season.. and then moved him
there is always a way. - Dozzer
Actually Dozzer......... there is no way to fit him in because of the Cap.
So you can't blame RC for this. If you want to lay blame, then lay it at the feet of Nonis.
There would be numerous changes to this line up in order to fit Liles in it. It sucks for Liles, but the Leafs really had no choice here. |

All these Grabovski die hard fans and yet I can't recall ever seeing a Grabovski jersey being worn by anyone but the player himself... - Mr_Smokey

same reason why ppl thought the kessel trade was bad immediately. OR bit*h about dion thinking it's so easy to replace him. They also think getting a #1 centre is a joke but nonis / burke just haven't tried. Trading for bernier was also considered a bad move on here since we already had Reimer.
I see a trend. Again, saying grabo has 5 pts so far is my favorite. Man , the leafs are really lacking in offense!!! All you hear about is how we need to tighten up our D if we want to keep winning. Grabo was a stud defensively as i recall |

I think Bozak is alot like Gunner, in that they do so many little things that arent flashy, which doesnt get easily noticed. Might be construed as boring players, but when players dont get noticed, it usually means they are doing their jobs correctly. I think Bozak is a very steady forward, in that we always know what to expect from him. He plays the same game everyday and plays responsibly in his role. He never gets moved up and down the lineup for poor play, ala Kadri. Which probably means he is doing his job. Hes also a pick pocket magician and a shootout guru!

Timeout wouldn't have helped Jesus boy let a floater in from the blue line.
Blame the collapse where it belongs.
I'll give you a hint...... we gave up a few 2nd rounders to replace him. |

bozak isnt poop were not arguing that, but i think we can all agree its frusterating watching kessel set him up for a tap in, time after time and he flubs it. |

a timeout helps, trust me.
our D was dead tired, we were basically using 4 d men at this point, with fraser being out.
to say the timeout would have helped is actually just plain silly, i mean why have it if it doesnt help?
this is when u say, "BOSTON IS GOONA BRING IT, NOW ICE THE PUCK OVER AND OVER TO SLOW THE GAME DOWN"
Anything would have been better than not calling a timeout. |
